 I am not a racist.
There has been a vicious slur bandied about against me lately, that I am a racist. This heinous accusation stems from the following edit I made to Encyclopædia Dramatica long ago: http://encyclopediadramatica.se/index.php?title=Nigger&diff=274882&oldid=274880
I am not a racist. To begin with, Encyclopædia Dramatica is a satirical site. Nearly nothing on the site is to be taken seriously, and anything racist, misogynistic, homophobic, or otherwise bigoted are to be presented in such a manner as to be obviously absurd. For more information, see here. When editing Encyclopædia Dramatica, I partake in this bold, edgy style of humor (although I am one of the more timid purveyors of this brand, as can be seen here, where I express fears that placing certain things on the main page may taint the atmosphere of the site by attracting actual racists), and in the beginnings of my stay at RationalWiki, I mistakenly pursued this style (though I did come to learn the lay of the land), as can be seen in the following diff: note that I was lampshading the stereotype. In actuality, I have met many people from various Asian countries, and none of them confused their l's and r's. I was making a brazen joke in an environment that at the moment I did not know was not privy to welcoming such humor. On Encyclopædia Dramatica, bigoted jokes are told with the knowledge that they are based on a false premise (i.e, Jews are greedy, gingers have no souls). In most cases the teller of the joke knows that what he is saying is ridiculous and is only saying it to be ridiculous.
However, this is not always the case; unfortunately Encyclopædia Dramatica has to contend with the occasional idiot that doesn't understand our brand of humor and is actually a bigot. Generally these are weeded out and ostracized upon discovery (and they often expose themselves by expressing indignance at the ED article on white people.
On a more personal note, I am not a racist, and this can be seen by observing my life. I have a black friend. He is from Rwanda. This alone proves little, but when looked upon as part of an overarching trend it helps my case. I am a fan of Spike Lee films. I have enjoyed other films by African-Americans, such as Juice. Is this what you would expect from a racist? I listen to a variety of hip hop music, from Public Enemy to the Geto Boys to Immortal Technique (somewhat ironically, I discovered the last through a link posted by User:UncleHo, who accused User:ListenerX of being a racist-he may be an asshole, but he has great taste in music). And although here there have been a few incidences of my typing the n-word, in real life I have a conditioned reluctance to utter it aloud (as I imagine most Americans do), which causes some problems when I sing along to certain rap songs (I usually substitute it with "African-American," but it kinda kills the rhythm and delivery).
 On RationalWiki
There is also evidence that I am not a racist on this very site! Many times I have come out in opposition to racism in debates and discussions here. Would a racist oppose racist rhetoric?
 In conclusion
I am not a racist. I have laid out a pattern of behavior clearly showing someone who is not a racist. Now, it is perhaps true that someone who outwardly opposes racism may in fact be lying to themselves, but then to claim that such is the case would not be falsifiable. The facts say that I am not a racist. I am not a racist, and people should also stop calling me one.
I am also not a misogynist, or a casual misogynist (not sure what a casual misogynist is, so hey, maybe I am one, but I doubt it), and I am not homophobic. The only group for which I might have an irrational hatred for would be otherkin, and I freely and openly admit that my dislike of furries and their ilk is not based on reason- and I make sure not to conduct my life according to this irrational antipathy towards them, either.
