There is an article on Conservapedia titled "Mystery: Why Do Non-Conservatives Exist." The article claims that conservatives are the rational ones.

The article begins with a claim that "Conservative principles are based on reason," and then ask: "why do non-conservatives still exist?"

What follows is a "statistical analysis" of why there are con-conservatives (AKA liberals) that is actually just estimates made by the author. In fact, all of the statistics they provide are estimates and have no basis in reality.

Strange Claims[edit]

These are directed towards how people become liberals:

  • Professors who share their opinions with students are to be considered "Dangerous."
  • South Park, Family Guy, and The Simpsons are turning people into liberals.
  • Movies and TV are the reason that people are not going to church. (Definitely couldn't be the yelling about fire, brimstone, and eternal damnation, right?)
  • Schools reward politically correct, liberal answers on test. (So that's why those history books say that the North won the Civil War.)

Even Stranger Claims[edit]

These claims are focused on "Liberal Characteristics" and are extremely biased and definitely over-opinionated:

  • Liberals lack poor abstract thinking skills
  • Liberals are close-minded. (Wait, the people against gay marriage are calling us close-minded?)
  • Liberals are naive. (Liberals buy into Bush derangement syndrome, and react with emotion rather than reason, which sounds awfully like how Conservatives act towards President Obama)
  • Liberals act in a self-destructive and contradictory way, followed by arguments such as " Some choose to do what is irrational " and "Use of mind-altering drugs, which encourages one to become a liberal to reconcile the cognitive dissonance, or dulls mental acuity resulting in mindless conformity." or my favorite "Sexual experimentation to make up for lack of self-esteem..."

A Trip To The Talk Page[edit]

Believe it or not, there are actually rational human beings on a Conservapedia. I strongly recommend you taking the time to read it,specifically the argument made by an Independent named James Cartwright, and a moderate conservative ShawnJ.
