I didn't want to hijack article on Croatia, but i feel this is something that might be interesting for RW contributors, 'cause hw.wiki is not much different than Conservapedia (OK, they are not (Young Earth) creationists and they lack machismo Kendoll). If You think that this page should be in article namespace, then don't hesitate to move it back.

Introduction[edit]

Croatian Wiki is one of seven South Slavic Wikipedias and one of four on lanuage called Serbocroatian until 1990s. Officially, the Croatian Wikipedia is a Wikimedia project, but it in many ways resembles Conservapedia in its youarecluelessness and closedmindedness. To be honest, not one single Serbo-Croatian Wikipedia (there are 4 of them) is a bright example of NPOV, but this is by far the worst (though there are sane people, they are in the minority and without influence).[1]

Bullshit Content[edit]

There you can read:

War crimes downplaying[edit]

Religion and superstition[edit]

Conspiracy theories and original research[edit]

  • That Yugoslav communists were obsessed with destroying the Croatian nation by avoiding the words "Croat(ia(n))".[5]Facepalm
  • An administrator wrote a article an essay, Croatian inferiority complex, that battled with a joint conspiracy of Serbs and home traitors (in a moment of sanity, this is now reduced to a stub and proposed for deletion as his fellow sysops thought it was too much anti-Croatian).[6]
  • Ivo Andrić, a Nobel Prize Laureates in Literature, as a writer is inferior to Mile Budak, who was a fascist and Nazi-collaborator.[7]

Other features[edit]

One of features of hr.wiki is extensive usage of word chetniks to label all Serbian units in wars in Croatia and Bosnia. Also they use Croatian equivalent of AD/BC dating style, after they concluded that BCE/CE is too much godless, commie and foreign to Croatian tradition.

Sysops[edit]

Admins on hr.wikipedia are small gods, they decide if an article should be deleted or not (they don't have AfD like larger wikipedias), they are only allowed to speak when serious conflicts arise, but they don't hesitate to block other users,[8] few admins have openly showed inhospitality toward users from Serbia and Bosnia, because they don't speak Croatian,[9] many of them have no clue on copyright and fair use... Prior to 2009, there was handfull of sysops who really know their job; after internal struggles for power, most of them left the project. Hr.wiki now has some 10 active sysops, and two active sysops who do tech work. Rest of them are bullies and trolls who only block/delete/protect, some of them thiks that MediaWiki softer use Croatian orthography, rather than English.[10] None of them gives a damn for wp:Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria. Their only advantage is loyalty to both national cause and uncrowned king and queen of hr.wiki.

The Serbo-Croatian language has especially bad treatment among sysops. The whole article on Serbo-Croatian is an essay dedicated to denying that this language ever existed. Also, sysops waged a campaign on hr.wiki, encouraging editors to take part in (edit) war with "Yugo-unitarists" and their English sidekicks on English Wikipedia and English Wiktionary in order to impose their point of view. After this crusade has failed, they avenged with removing interwiki links to Serbo-Croatian Wikipedia from Main page and MediaWiki:Recentchangestext[11] (although interwiki links in articles remained).
