I've rolled back your contributions to the Patriarchy article because they do not materially undermine the notion that the societies in question favour men (particularly a certain subset of men) over women. Hydrogen and Time (talk) 11:01, 27 September 2013 (UTC)

While you are free to continue to edit as, and be identified by, your IP address, you might prefer to create an account (they're free!), or log in if you already have one. If you create an account, your IP address will not be displayed and you will face fewer editing restrictions.

And let's also talk about your edits to Patriarchy[edit]

I have reverted your edit on technical grounds rather than on the substance of the actual argument that you are presenting. I wish to make it clear that you are not being censored directly; rather, this is the collaborative editing process. Please give me the benefit of the doubt and allow me to explain in more detail.

If we assume that your references accurately reflect their cited uses and take that out of the picture, I do not see any immediate problems with the substantive content of your edits, and it would require more thorough research into the validity and integrity of the sources themselves and such to make intelligent challenges. I question whether all of the details you mention are actually relevant to the subject at hand, but we can save that debate for another time, I really am not interested in debating the substance of the article edits on your talk page.

Instead, I have reverted your edits because, objectively speaking, they were not ready for prime time, and you haven't quite picked up on how we work around here. If it was merely a question of correcting spelling and grammar, I would have handled it myself, but there's more than that. I'd like to suggest that you read the articles linked in the welcome template above, and I'd also like to invite you to browse around the site and take in some of the sights beyond the articles in the Feminism category. Your edits strongly suggest your primary environment is Wikipedia or another encyclopedic wiki, and RationalWiki is very much not Wikipedia. You seem a little close to the topic, which is another reason why I pulled your edits from the live article. On talk pages, discussions are ordered chronologically and new topics belong at the bottom. I'm not sure whether your decision to post your edit to the talk page at the very top was because you were steamed or if you just weren't aware of the convention, but please keep this in mind in the future, sticking it all at the very top does make you look like you're flying off the handle when you're making that kind of post. There needs to be more care and thought put into edits, especially if you are introducing a controversial position into an established article (never mind with a topic as contentious as patriarchy).

Remember: You don't need "permission" to edit articles, but likewise nobody needs permission to revert crappy edits. Like Wikipedia, we discourage edit warring. Ochotona princepsnot a pokémon 11:46, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
