User talk:Brxbrx/Crack epidemic
I still don't get why making crack or other freebase cocaine is better than just selling the cocaine you have. Anybody know? I'll need a citation. Speculation and personal experience won't do.--"Shut up, Brx." 15:23, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
- Easier to smoke. JubalHarshaw (talk) 15:28, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
- Is smoking better than snorting or injecting?--"Shut up, Brx." 15:30, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
- It's far cheeper, hence the reason it's on the streets. and the reason it has a high jail term. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crack_cocaine I don't get the chemistry, but baking soda is used instead of something called diethyl ether.
- Cheaper--you can spread the product out more easily, and smoking (apparently) gets the drug into your body stronger/faster than snorting. JubalHarshaw (talk) 16:00, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

[edit] Hunting for another reference
I would like to find an article from The Independent dated 1989. Unfortunately, their site archives only go back to 1992. I found the reference on wikipedia, but I'm not comfortable copying and pasting it without first reading it to make sure what's what.
Does anybody know how I could get a look at that article? A free look, of course. I can't afford to pay to research for RationalWiki articles. This is the ref in question, if anyone decides to help
