About "Citation needed"[edit]

Citation needed, on rationalwiki, isn't intended for "fixing" opinionated tone. This isn't wikipedia, and the template's intention is for circumstances where a citation would strengthen an assertion of fact. You'll see in the libertarianism article, that there are refs in many of those kinds of places. Expecting statements mocking the silliness of beliefs to be cited isn't helpful. We aren't striving for a neutral point of view, or to be a dry repository of facts.

Contrafactual things are still bad, and even if included as opinion or snark would be pulled in the face of a cite that completely undermines the point. I think you're used to wikipedia's tone, and that's not how this wiki rolls. Ikanreed (talk) 19:26, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
