Did you happen to notice the date of the comment that you just replied to? (July 2009). Scream!! (talk) 15:18, 13 October 2014 (UTC)
Is someone currently reading this? Greetings. I'll present myself.
I was drafting a long contribution to the talk page of the "Gaia" article. My draft is now near-complete. I expected that to be my entire contribution to RationalWiki. I wouldn't make the investment to become an article editor.
Here is the confusing bit:
I inserted that comment you remarked on, THEN DECIDED I DIDN'T WANT TO USE THIS USERNAME. I didn't want to post with two usernames, so I logged in to delete that comment so this can be an inactive account, intending to reinsert the comment with my new name.
(Perhaps no-one would have noticed, or minded, if I had used two accounts but I think it is the best policy to be open and clear.)
I found your comment, so I'll keep this active until we finish this dicussion, if it's a discussion.
As to the date -- I see no problem. In 5 years my comment will be 5 years old; Lovelock's first book will be 40 years old.
(Time for me to take a break, (2 hours?) if anyone is out there. The only activity I will do on this site will be posting on the Gaia talk page so that is where you will see my new account; I WILL NOTE ON THE TALK PAGE OF THAT ACCOUNT THAT I AM THE AUTHOR OF A COMMENT THAT APPEARED UNDER A DIFFERENT USER NAME, since in itself it could look suspicious.)
