Korana Essay outline[edit]

The Korana: When Newage Sewage meets Holy Texts by Harun

1. Intro

-Ex Salaam Alaikum. As an ex-Muslim, I love to continually read different books and interpretations about Islam, my fide mater. It is once in a while you will come upon such a gem as a feminist 'interpretation' of the Koran. This essay will pick apart the brilliant satire known as the Korana of Mother Goddess, which is a product of Newage Sewage, and, some might argue, linguicentrism.

-I must give credit where it is due; reading the Koran is a brutal process, and the author managed to get through it. Even for a newage hippie, it wold seem hard to read a book, that if one applied statistical analysis to it, would produce a verse containing hatred, violence, or malice every ABC verses. Very few chapters contain no direct violence, and to those, one can easily interpret other types of malice, such as bigotry in Fatiha or intolerance in Naas.

3. Textual Criticism -Picking apart a few Surahs Koran: 2:6 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. [Allah hath sealed their hearing and their hearts], and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be an awful doom. Korana: 2.6 As for the nonbelievers, you will find there is not a reason to admonish them, for they will not begin to believe from your admonishments, but only through the plans of Goddess. For now, [they have sealed up their own hearts and hearing;]

3B. Picking Apart the Footnotes and the Ten Commandments

4. Theological Arguments 5. A few good ayas from... -Fatiha -Naas -

6. Outro -I would like to suggest a drinking game. Head over to the Skeptic's Annotated Koran (or better yet, help out with the RW version!) and choose an aya at random. Then, lookup the aya in the Korana. Take a drink if you laugh when comparing the two. I tried this five times last night, and I have a massive hangover. Here are a few to get you started:

-Will they do the Buybull and Book of Mormon?
