## You people have stood in my way long enough!

I can haz bureaucrat please? I think you'll find my top quality jinx-baiting is more than enough to deserve additional powers. Ace McWickedThe Liquid Room 19:29, 15 January 2009 (EST)

Ehhh... I don't think so. Sorry, but I feel that a bureaucrat should at least be a fairly respected and/or prominent member of the community—and you're more of a casual user. Radioactive Misanthrope 19:56, 15 January 2009 (EST)
If I want Human to reply do I post on your talkpage RA? Ace McWickedThe Liquid Room 20:07, 15 January 2009 (EST)

## Don't bite the n00bs

I noticed your comment on Defiant Elements' attempted article. While I understand your want to call things as they are, I do think that we should take a lighter touch with newcomers, and try not to word things so brutally when criticizing their efforts. Radioactive Misanthrope 03:09, 24 January 2009 (EST)

For an example, I think a better way of putting your criticism would've been "I copyedited this a bit, but I still don't get what its trying to say. It's nice that you made an article, but it makes no point, addresses no issue, and has no footnotes or references. If the author wants to keep it, they can move it to their userspace, otherwise I think it should be deleted." It may seem overly civil to you, but this version manages to get the point across while still acknowledging the earnestness of their efforts. Radioactive Misanthrope 03:09, 24 January 2009 (EST)

I just saw how you did exactly that (more or less) on Defiant Elements' talk page. I realize you don't need to be lectured by me when it comes to talking with newcomers. However, I still think that your initial comment on the article's talk page was too brusque, and I think it would be better to avoid such cavalier treatment of them. ## Reporting for mop, bucket and taser

Dear EddyP,

We regret to inform you that you have been demoted to the rank of sysop. You are requested to report to a bureaucrat, at your nearest possible convenience, to be assigned a mop, bucket and taser for the purposes of cleaning up the mess around here. If you have any further questions please refer to the enclosed pamphlet So you are now a sysop.

Sir Reginald Albert Humfildink-Hollingsworth the Third, Under-secretary of the Chief-secretary of the Personal-secretary of the Minister.

You heard Sir Reginald, give me my taser! EddyP 13:27, 26 January 2009 (EST)

## Looking for v. sekrit way to ask about a sock

So I have a sock on CP and right now the edits I'm making aren't a direct challenge to anything obvious, but sooner or later I will "accidentally" criticize an organization near and dear to the hearts of several high level CP sysops (no, not the moonies). I'm wondering if you know of a way by which I can talk with someone who has had more experience with CP to ask about how far I can push this without it getting reverted. I'd like to do this without doing it where Ed or Andy could see it. As of right now, I'm trying to fly under the radar, not gunning for a sysopship. (I am not asking for cabal membership or anything like that, more is there a way to allow people to email me through RW/a way I could email a long time RW citizen?) Thank you kindly and vaya con dios. Hactar 15:28, 30 January 2009 (EST)

Ignoring your "purpose", since the only experience I have with it is reading about what people have done on here, to answer your question, yes, if you enable email in your "preferences", you can privately email any user who has also done so. To address your purpose, as I was reading, my first thought was "find someone who seems to have experience with this and email them". Certainly a few sock puppeteers of various stripes seem to be contributors here, and you may also be able to find others by following the various blogs and forums out there where CP gets discussed - I often see unfamiliar names posting about experiences on CP (although of course they might be here under other user names). I don't really see the point, though, CP is funnier without interlopers - that is to say, Andy or Ed et al are much more entertaining than, say, Bugler was. ħuman 16:00, 30 January 2009 (EST)

## Thanks

For helping me with recategorizing the state articles. Radioactive Misanthrope 03:01, 31 January 2009 (EST)

Hehe, you're welcome. I thought you might have been taken away from your 'puter because you sort of stopped in the middle, I figured it was the sort of chore that should be finished to avoid confusion. I saw you made it back before I was done though ;) ħuman 16:46, 31 January 2009 (EST)
I didn't realize that it looked like I had stopped. I try to keep the number of tabs I have open under thirty, so I was in the middle of loading the second half of the states when I started getting in edit conflicts with you. I still appreciate the spirit of helpfulness behind your effort, and thank you for helping. Radioactive Misanthrope 22:15, 31 January 2009 (EST)
Yah, me too (<30). But there was a lag between the last one you did, I was afraid you had, as I said, been put to sleep or some such real world intrusion on our real work. Actually, what I tend to do is a sort of "overlapping flow" thing on work like that - open 20 or so tabs, click edit on them all, start fixing the first ones to load and hit save, by then I can close some and open ten more. Not that it matters, now that we have the RAbot ;) ħuman 22:20, 31 January 2009 (EST)

Did the discussion about categories reach any conclusion? If not, I think it would be best to continue the discussion until we reach one. I'm not sure, I might have lost track of it. Where did the discussion end up taking place, do you remember? ħuman 16:32, 8 February 2009 (EST)
Category talk:People and Category talk:Conservapedia side-by-side articles, as I recall. Though it would probably be for the best if the discussions were continued on a single designated page. (RationalWiki talk:Categories, perhaps?) Radioactive Misanthrope 16:49, 8 February 2009 (EST)
Yes, a more defined and logical place to discuss our categories, indeed. Is there stuff we should copy over to there in order to reinvigorate the discussion? ħuman 17:48, 8 February 2009 (EST)

## Indents

So, remember long ago you and I were trying to solve the problem of using indentations on the Schlafly Generator template? Whelp, I finally figured out what the problem is. Turns out MediaWiki needs all of the text in the same paragraph, not only in appearance, but in the actual page. That is:

<choose><option>Hi my name is CUR</option><option>Hi my name is Andy Schwafwy</option></choose>

<choose>
<option>Hi my name is CUR</option>
<option>Hi my name is Andy Schwafwy</option>
</choose>

I did a preview test on the actual generator, and it works fine. I haven't implemented the fix yet, however, as it kind of makes the thing a bitch to edit. Any thoughts? --YossieSpring in Fialta 21:26, 17 February 2009 (EST)

"Π" (your insulting name is getting tiresome), your ranting is getting out of control. I've managed to read your rants and you claim that faith isn't an uniquely Christian concept, so there's a 95% chance you're lying. And you persist in denying the obvious truth that Obama refuses to salute the flag and that including the phrase "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance stops violence. The answer to your silly question is this: autumn foliage is beautiful, and it disproves evolution. How about learning first, and then preaching second? I know you'll insist, as all liberals do, on last wordism here, but don't misrepresent my position and don't beat a dead horse, or you will be blocked.--Andy Schlafly 21:04, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
Fix the typo: "...contributions and see you're suffering from evolution syndrome, so it's obvious to me you'rea victim of Professor values." Please. ħuman 00:50, 18 February 2009 (EST)

I give up. Where did that name come from?! ĵ₳¥ášÇ♠ʘ Reticulating splines

It's the correct splignel of you user name, of course! Or is it Icelandic for "talk"? ħuman 23:21, 18 February 2009 (EST)

I demand to be remade a sysop!

because? Totnesmartin 09:05, 26 February 2009 (EST)

That is not your concern. Your concern is to accede to my demands and make me an admin.

BON's can't get sysopship. Start by taking out an account, and I'll make you a sysop. TheoryOfPractice 10:56, 26 February 2009 (EST)
(EC)I think you'll find that this is User:Marcus Cicero who got de-sysopped after going on a rampage and blocking everyone he could find for a non-trivial amount of time. Генгисpillaging 11:08, 26 February 2009 (EST)

Yeah, but I was bored today and fancy having the powers back. Was wondering if I could remain a sysop, without doing any editing, and won't block anyone. Basically I'll just log in when I'm bored, threaten a few editors with indefinate blocks, and then disappear again. Is that ok? MarcusCicero 11:12, 26 February 2009 (EST) (I'm a little high)

Really? Thats a binding agreement! BON was me so you better get sysopping. MarcusCicero 11:07, 26 February 2009 (EST)

## Kendoll Pictures

I've been kicking around ideas for the Ken Quote Generator and I was wondering... Is there anyway we could get like a random picture page? if nothing else, even a bot that could go through and add a [[Image:Penguin.jpg]] Type picture links to a page... I was thinking that if we could do that, we could add options to all of them and randomize inside another template... What do you think? SirChuckBLeave Death Threats Here 23:12, 4 March 2009 (EST)

It should be do-able. If you look at the "sex" template, it lists 13 random articles from the category it adds to pages. Since I think people have been catting our images (better idea in a moment) it should be possible to add a carefully crafted link (or embed the image) randomly. Better idea on top of that - add "category:kendoll image" to selected images and pick only from among them. ħuman 23:10, 4 March 2009 (EST) (PS, you left an unclosed nowiki tag that borked your sig.)
Oh, good idea... I'll get started on that tonight before bed. SirChuckBLeave Death Threats Here 23:12, 4 March 2009 (EST)

## Obscure books

Please explain to me why we have something that the *only* reason it's there, is cause someone listed it on a "guide to the bible" list. To say that "someone might write it" would be the same logic as to say "someone might right an article on the first poem written by Shakespeare, so I should red link it". At some point you ask "what does this serve, and who wants it". 49 references are not cause we write about it 49 times, but because the template shows up 49 times on pages, with a list of books no one even knows are in the bible. That's my argument. Same argument, by the way, for why I think all the indepth math articles are out of place here. They do nothing to further any "mission".--En attendant Godot"«Poetry involves the mysteries of the irrational perceived through rational words. V.Nabokov» 23:56, 14 March 2009 (EDT)
