## WWGHA

Quick question for you. Are you the Human who's been a regular on the WWGHA forums? --Ask me about your mother 22:37, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

I doubt it, since I don't think I even know what they are. "Human" is taken at most established internet venues long before I get there anyway. I only use it here because in early '07 I didn't want to use my real name at CP, and then no one knew who the heck "Huw Powell" was on RW1, so I registered as Human on RW2 for simplicity. I am, or was, Human at CP, RWW, maybe WS, and aSK, I think that's about it. Oh, and on the RW forums. ħuman 22:41, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Cheers. It's the Why Won't God Heal Amputees site Ask me about your mother 22:44, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Cool, nice site. We should link to it more often. Nice sig, too, by the way. ħuman 00:08, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
Cheers. My dad reads the Mail, which scares me, so I'm trying to find some comedy in that atrocity of a newspaper. I'm working on an article to describe WWGHA, so I'll collect together the most interesting links. --Ask me about your mother 07:42, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
I added it as an external link at prayer, so that can get changed to a see also when the time comes. Let me know when you knock together the article! ħuman 18:36, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
Hey there. The article is up. Why Won't God Heal Amputees.Ask me about your mother 20:05, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

I was tempted to wipe and put it as that, but I felt maybe commented would be better, less disruptive. Oh well, at least I know you're quick to catch it, which is a good sign. 137.104.120.249 22:25, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

## hahahahahahaha

I was reading through Opal Honor's talk page when I spotted this gem:

“”I think Huw has probably been on the BBC News at 10 before - "Welsh extradite Huw Powell has been involved in another attack on six children in his garden using for weapons a lawn mower, hedge trimmers and a 1970s era eight-track player, when a soccer ball landed twenty feet from his lawn. The resulting incident required twelve police cars, eight ambulances, and Alan Titchmarsh before the situation was resolved and the attacker placed under arrest. He has since broken out and is still at large." —SuperJosh

## Second series of Python

Nearly as good as the first... favourite sketch, "The Society for Putting Things on Top of Other Things."

Chapman: In the last year, we have put no fewer than twenty-two things on top of other things! However... there is a cloud on the horizon. In the past business year, our Staffordshire branch has failed to put a single thing on top of another thing!

Silly laughter ensued courtesy of me. SJ Debaser 15:54, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

Hehe, yes... I never regretted dropping over \$100 on the box set of all the shows. Well, not after I had a friend "refactor" them to simplify the awful menu/intro crap that the geeks at A&E make you watch before every episode, anyway. It's also nice to have a copy of All the Words to go with it. ħuman 20:27, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
I, too, have the box set. I especially like the "The Man Who..." sketches, like "The Man Who Speaks Only The Middle of Words". Aboriginal Noise Theist, barely hanging by a nail 20:34, 9 October 2009 (UTC)

## Dawkins on Thom Hartmann

I was just wondering if you happened to catch Thom Hartmann's interview with Richard Dawkins on today's show? I found it quite incitful. Cheers. Lord of the Goons The official spikey-haired skeptical punk 03:39, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Fuck piss shit damn, I think I had it on but wasn't really listening. Crapped that I missed it. Why didncha tell me while it was on, what are you some sort of Ozzy drunk or sumthin'? Maybe I can check it out on the archives? ħuman 03:55, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
I would've told you, but I was busy slacking off at work. Oh well, hopefully they'll put it up somewhere, because it was really good. Especially the parts that had to do with explaining the various theories surrounding evolution.Lord Goonie Hooray! I'm helping! 04:28, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

i'm part of the radio society at my university and i did my first show the other day. in preparation for it i downloaded several soundbites, all of which were monty python's flying circus quotes; "now for something completely different," "filth," "he's not the messiah" and all the best ones basically. I've a couple of spare machines which are largely idle whan I'm at work so you could offload the workload onto them. However they do share a 20Mb uncontested broadband pipe. Is the bandwidth the limiting factor or the processing power? Генгисmutating 23:23, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
I think it might ending up being a problem - the dictionary is astonishingly large and is located on another machine so I'm taxing my connection up and down. Let me experiment with getting the dictionary local. 23:33, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
Did you get my email Hu? I sent it from the hotmail address I set-up for this purpose. AceMcWicked 00:01, 26 October 2009 (UTC)
Ace, yes, your suggestion is superb. I'll try to run a beta version of it on some random wiki that no one loves in the next day or two. ħuman 01:45, 26 October 2009 (UTC)

## Naga

You wants a nice jar of my naga chutney? Very well. Email me your snail mail address and it shall be done, although with the current strikes it will probably be rotten by the time it reaches you. CrundyTalk nerdy to me 20:51, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Cool, thanks. I have sent you a terribly unimportant email... ħuman 21:39, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
WTF? I will trade homebrew for chutney. 23:06, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
I'm depressed. Everyone hates me and the wife isn't here. I hate everything. So anyway, you want Naga chutney still? Nutty, fuck the family, you can have some too. God I hate everything. Send me two and I'll forward one to Nutty, postage probably a better deal that way. Not everyone hates you, Ace likes you. Ace also likes sheep, but that's another matter entirely. ħuman 00:58, 27 October 2009 (UTC)
I can make a noise like a sheep if it helps? I do charge extra though. CrundyTalk nerdy to me 01:02, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

## Odd Question

Since I've never done it before, how does one use the unsigned by template for talkpage posts the author forgot to sign, or where might one find the help guide on it?Lord of the Goons The official spikey-haired skeptical punk 23:47, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

Nevermind, our friendly dicator helped me out.The Spikey Punk I'm punking my punk! 23:48, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

{{subst:Unsigned|name or IP}} or {{subst:Unsig|blah}}, which is just a redirect for my lazy typing. You can also put in the timestamp, it's documented at template:unsigned I think. ħuman 23:50, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

## Prodigal Editor

What on earth has been going on for the last year? Give me a carefully itemised list of the haps. Oh, and, hi! --מְתֻרְגְּמָן וִיקִי שְׁלֹום!

We had a 14-year-old cheetah visit and leave. We added eleven articles to the mainspace and fixed 314 typos in what we already had. Kels and Doc ran off to Bermuda Susan burned through five or six computers, compelling her to rewrite all the help files so they work best on a cell phone screen. After Marcus Cicero made a few suggestions, we instituted a new, much stricter set of guidelines that forbid something called "4chan internet memes" or something, although nothing much changed. Trent went home for two weeks and the server promptly crashed, leaving us RW-less for the duration. We descended on BobM's teflonwwiki and used all his monthly bandwidth in about three days. Nx and Pi keep making the various Web 2.0 custom user interfaces more and more sophisticated and cool. So, anyway, how have you been, it's nice to see you back - thanks for dropping in to say hi! ħuman 21:59, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Cool, so not that different from how it was before. Anyway, I'm at Oxford now, where, as I'm studying History and Politics, I've theoretically got a lot of free time to come and bother you lot (although actually, that's evil deceit propagated by the tutors, as I've spend roughly half of my life reading). So, fun. Is PalMD still around? I've still got to thank him for getting me hooked on the scientific method and causality and stuff, which really helped. But yeah, you're all awesome, and a good antidote to me getting depressed at other people on the internet. --מְתֻרְגְּמָן וִיקִי שְׁלֹום!
Doc pops in once in a while, but I think most of his internet energies are devoted to his blog these days. And of course, he is a busy doctor and young father. But I see edits by him at least once a month, it seems. ħuman 23:06, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll go pester him there. Also, when did Conservative abandon his opus magnum of a user page? Sure, it's pretty bad now, but it's nothing like it was. --מְתֻרְגְּמָן וִיקִי שְׁלֹום!

Well, that was the ugly result of the Human vs. RA wars. I guess I forgot to mention them. Sysopping went from "mostly harmless" to "has been here 36 hours". And 'cratting got sloppy, too. We'll probably never manage to reverse that silliness. ħuman 01:08, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

## Bases and balls

I forgot to ask, what is your team? I knew you were rooting against the Yanks, but that doesn't narrow it down much. Tetronian you're clueless 04:57, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Hehe, no it doesn't, does it. I also had to learn the players on the Phil team over a few games (although Utley and Lee were easy to pick out). I live in NH, so I guess I pretend to loves me some Red Socks. Really, when I watch good sports, when I don't know the teams, my allegiance switches endlessly to whoever is behind ;). But it was fun watching so many Yankees I remember from 2004 still doing what they do. And I'm happy for your rooting for your team, and hell, after all these years and all that cash, surely Yankees deserve to buy one again. My favorite Yankee? Jeter, for his smirk. Yankees, I'd swear, have to turn up to spring training in suits. No personality allowed. But Jeter's smirk - and I mean that in the best way - says "Hey, I may be in pinstripes, but I'm a worker". Or something like that. Anyway, congrats to your team for winning, I had hope to see it go seven, but I did expect the slightly tighter (and better bullpenned) Yanks to win in the end. "World" champions? Why do they always embarrass our sport before the world that way? ħuman 05:04, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
PS, do you mind if I archive that SB thread to save space? ħuman 05:05, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Sure, archive away.
They call it "world" series because it includes the US and one team from Canada, which is more than any other US sport does. I agree, Jeter is my favorite Yankee, with Posada a close second. I can't stand A-Rod, he gets paid way too much for doing nothing. I live in NJ, which is mostly Yank territory, although we have a bunch of Mets fans mixed in. I was actually a bit surprised at the result, based on how Philly did last year I expected it would be a much closer series than it was. Tetronian you're clueless 05:11, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
A-rod pissed me off 5 years ago when he slapped the ball out of some Sox pitcher's glove. I think he's overrated. I think most of the Yankees are amazing players, and they were overdeserved for winning this one (although I would have liked it go seven!) That starter tonight, bunch of t's and l's, great pitcher. Their closer, amazing - why isn't he ever in consideration for starter? End of story, yes, the big brains expected it to go seven, but the Yankees had a tighter team, the Phillies were always a bit loose - bot never so loose as to be "a bunch of idiots." I'll archive the SB part of this convo, if you want to continue to chat rounders here, feel free. ħuman 05:26, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

## Religious Right

Because it is a social movement, it is often capitalized, much like the Civil Rights Movement. That's why I had capitalized both words back in the day, and I think it should probably be capitalized. Of course, one could argue there are, in fact, many different movements called "the Religious Right," but the seeming unity is enough, I believe, to capitalize it. Researcher 16:10, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

Hmmmm... I guess you're probably right... wikipedia can't make up their mind on it! ħuman 19:14, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

## Gödel, Escher, Bach

I had to dig out my copy to check the spelling: It was one of the books that was flooded in 2007 and all the pages were stuck together. I've not repaired it fully and all the pages are now loose. It's an excellent book when you can manage to go through the lot. Might re-buy it. & marmitechat 01:30, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

I ought to read that. I recently read Melanie Mithcell's Complexity, A Guided Tour, in which she references Gödel, Escher, Bach a billionity times, and I've always wonder what it was like. Sterile cuddly toy 04:59, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

## Minn. Matters

Here's the show. I'm not sure where to listen for your Andy clone. Are you sure he sounded like a Muppet gargling diarrhea? 01:46, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

I heard it. The one where one host comments "how much of that was nonsense?" That was "Stan" from somewhere in MN. I think Andy likes using his own name for its cache if nothing else. 01:57, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Here is roughly where it is in the mp3. He sounds like Andy - I loved the, "oh, I'll wait until after the break" part. No you won't! Not sure what he actually had to say though. ħuman 02:57, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
He really did sound like a weasel choking on his own razor blade vomit. He also sounded incredibly confused about why he was calling. ħuman 04:58, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Why are you guys listening to Minnesota Matters, anyway? If anything, I'd think only ListenerX or myself would care about that show. Punky Your mental puke relief 20:12, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Sure do... there's a couple others, too, aren't there? Also, all the woo-ey product ads... I don't hear the show though, because Sat I listen to WGBH at least to the start of teh Blues show, and Sunday it's WUNH until the Rev Gaddy on WWRL followed by the world's worst talk show host, Michio Kaku, capped off with Mad Men on TV... ħuman 21:08, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Ah the woo-ey products. Not an hour goes by on AM950where I don't here a commercial for Betaprostate or for Purity Products. That's what I thought. I don't care who was naughty first, it's fun wheel warring. And Purge was probably mistitled, back in the day we hadn't made up our minds yet. PS, have some boysenberry jellyfish. ħuman 05:12, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
I'm just saying don't bite off the head of a Listener for changing things that are older than him. It's a wiki, anything can be put back as it was. And it was Mei's fault anyway. Also the fruit n' fish combination I now find dark and frightening. -- =w= 05:16, 19 November 2009 (UTC)
(EC) The capitalization in the present titles is incorrect. One does not use sentence case for proper nouns. The previous capitalization is necessary. (And, as Mei says, I was merely restoring a state of affairs that existed prior to my joining the Wiki.) ListenerXTalkerX 05:19, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

## There was no width parameter

There is no width parameter and there will be no width parameter. It was done via your monobook.css -- Nx / talk 04:30, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

"And there will be no..." Wow. Your fanatical authoritarianism is freaking me out. ħuman 04:32, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
You edited my user space without permission to mess with how I see the site? That is NOT COOL. You need to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN and see if other people want the changes you are implementing sitewide. I suggest bringing it up on the saloon bar. ħuman 04:38, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
You wanted it to be maximized at 800 pixels no? -- Nx / talk 04:42, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but not just "for me", but for "anyone". Also, that was a very clumsy way of communicating, since I didn't know why what I was was looking at looked the way it did. I think you should simply implement a "max width" parameter so it can be tailored to individual templates. Also, I don't see any value in what you are doing, every new message box type template will require editing template:messagebox to include its specific parameters. One stop shopping is better than having to edit several files, I think. Anyway, so far, this is your one-man mission, no one else has "asked" for this extra level of complexity to our templates. And you haven't asked anyone else if it seems like a good idea. ħuman 04:47, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
No you don't, you edit the common.css to add an extra class. That way you don't jam the server with a huge job queue. - π 04:52, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Why this is a good idea:

From a technical viewpoint:
In the past, when you wanted to create something you found something similar and copied it, changed it a bit and called it a day. You then had lots of copies of the same code with slight changes and then I have to fix the fucking things when someone fucks up and the fuckup proliferates because of this copying. Example: The right side navigation templates (that's the next one-man project btw), userboxes after the MW upgrade.
From a stylistic viewpoint:
We don't look like a geocities site.

Because no-one cares.

Why no-one asked me to do this:

Because no-one cares. Or worse, thinks that what we have now is perfect and should stay. -- Nx / talk 05:01, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Human, I think the important thing to remember is we are about to have a major shift in the appearance and functionality of MediaWiki. Things like the CSS are going to effect the on screen appearance a lot more than old html code. Have you been trying Wikipedia beta? - π 05:06, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
I don't like this wiki any more. People think they can not only change things without ANY discussion aforehand, they also feel comfortable EDITING MY USER SPACE TO FUCK WITH HOW THE WIKI LOOKS. You guys can fuck off, kindly. Nx is an asshole who does not know how to work with a community. He is an authoritarian bastard "I've been thinking about this a lot and I honestly think this is the best solution, even if it's not perfect." - Nx. ħuman 05:11, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Jesus, calm the fuck down. Nx, don't change anything just yet. Human, you are explictly barred from stringing two capital letters together for the next two days. No swearing, either of you. Now, let's sit down and discuss the like adults. --User:Theemperor/Sig 05:42, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

So why aren't we discussing it in the saloon bar? You guys make it sound like we have to remake our site before next week or the internet will no longer include us, or something. WTF? Aw, damn, I log back in and I disappoint my hero, Ace. Seriously, hahahahaha I think my points are well-made. Maybe you don't care as much, but when people autocratically remake the wiki, ignore questions along the way, and then finally post in the saloon bar that "you can't edit this", I wonder what we have become - or, I also wonder the mindset of some of the people doing this as regards our "mission". PS, now I must go refill my drink ;) ħuman 06:54, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
Yeah but nonetheless, your points not withstanding, is it not better to assume good faith on the part of Nx? We know that he has our best interests at heart and I may have only just jumped in here and have bled all over the carpet but we are shifting RW around a bit and Nx is a fine and worthy (albiet perhaps not as outlandish as our fine selves) editor here. US TVs are all NTSC, as far as I know. Also, I'd need a region-free (or all regions) player. Or I'd need a way to "double hack" the dvds - strip the region code, then convert PAL to NTSC (which from what I found on line is rather complex). Whereas there are machines like this which would solve the whole problem. ħuman 23:12, 28 November 2009 (UTC)

## Um. Surely you know why all the regulars are walking away, right...?

It's because this site now prefers trolls to regular users. It's just not fun anymore, when you have to see the same trolling shit day in and day out. And since you're one of the chief advocates for trolling, it is in no small measure your fault, but you also have it in your power to fix the problem. I'm tending to agree with Jeeves, and Toast, and Kels. I log into RW, and I don't really see anything I wish to do here at this point. I don't find constant block wars all that interesting (there's a difference between a love block and what's going on) and it's becoming rather high school-ish. Just not all that interesting really. Sterile cuddly toy 15:10, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

So perhaps there is a solution: ignore the trolls and the anti-troll trolls and just get on with writing the wiki. Tetronian you're clueless 15:17, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Well duh. The problem is, however, that there is no wiki to write. You harp on about rationalwiki being a project but you've only been here a few months. You really don't understand that what gets most RWians up in the morning is their bigotry; RW is a conduit through which that bigotry passes, no more, no less. The reason they are all so pissed at me is that I reflect that fact in a very literal way.
That's the solution I was hoping for, but apparently it's impractical. People here can't ignore trolls. — Sincerely, Neveruse513 / Talk / Block 15:22, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
(EC)That only works if everyone is on board with it. But as we've seen, over and over and tediously over again, from TK forward, is that isn't working. I rarely responded at all to him, and a number of others didn't either, but a lot of people just couldn't help themselves. You can't have any expectation on this wiki that enough people will honour DNFTT for it to prevent Recent Changes and a lot of popular pages being filled up with drama. --Kels (talk) 15:23, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
If people can't ignore trolls, that's their problem. What really pisses me off about the current situation is that it's by and large the people who can't ignore trolls than then turn on their fellow RW-ians and start swearing at them. –SuspectedReplicantretire me 15:37, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
The fact of the matter is that if there were more interesting things to do on RW, the MC drama would take a back seat. What people are really annoyed by is the fact that you've all run out of ideas. Face it; the principle of writing a wiki (Which by your own admission is not intended as being serious) doesn't motivate anyone; the social group thing works for a while, but people on the internet grow tired of other anonymous peoples company; and therefore, a pariah figure is necessary both as an excuse to complain and threaten reprisals, but also as an excuse to leave if your dis-satisfied with the remainder of the wiki. Just bear in mind that all the recent histrionics were not started by me, but by yourselves. Anyone with even a basic knowledge of sociology will understand that this really is a case of 'making your own bed'.
You ever say to someone - "let's go get a parfait?", and they say "hell no, I don't like no damn parfaits." --Edgerunner76Your views are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter 15:23, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

You know, as much as I hate to agree with MC's BON here, he's right. The current HCM was a long time coming, in my opinion. He was just the match to the gasoline. I maintain that the best solution to what happened is for people to go back to doing what we do best; writing SPOV articles, hanging out and talking about nonsense in the saloon bar, block warring only when it's funny, debating topics relevant to this site (like science, pseudoscience, etc.) In fact, once my internet at home is functioning again), that is exactly what I intend to do. Screw those who think this site is a lost cause, I've always considered this site to be a hobby for when I'm bored, and dammit now I've contributed too much here to just walk away. We can stay up late, swapping manly stories, and in the morning, I'M MAKING WAFFLES. Anyway, on a serious note, as someone who's been here for awhile... This is nothing new. About once a year or so, people get tired with the status quo and some big name annoyance causing trouble (TK,MC,CUR, You name it) and there's a sudden rush of people taking off for parts unknown. I personally don't think it's that big of an idea and not nearly as dire as some would make out. SirChuckBObama/Biden? 2012 15:38, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, but you know, I created Climategate and A Dozen ID-Inspired Predictions and there's no interest in editing them. I have no problem with "social" aspects of the site, and, while I don't find CP all that interesting any more, I have no problem with people's interest in it. But if that and endless chatter about templates and trolls are all there are here, I'm bored. Sterile cuddly toy 16:12, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

## Hyman in the Golden Sands

So what kind of psycho rat bastard would write the word "Hymen" in two foot high letters on the golden imported sands of Oriental Bay on a Sunday evening as the sun sets?
What kind of depraved lunatics could get away with flailing round in the surf, abusing the locals and terrifying small children; all the while drinking cheap champagne out of paper cups and smoking endless amounts of cigarettes?
"Dear God someone please take these helpless weirdo's to church and lock them in a confessional for 3 days, By Christ!" is what I want to scream at them.
Unfortunately all the evidence points unequivocally towards the real culprits. My entire weekend is held on a magnetic tape less than an inch wide and the bastard tells me no fucking lies.
But wait, is something missing here?
How did we get to the beach?
Why we were so powerfully twisted and why the hell did "Hymen" appeal to us so much?
All the answers arrived to me when I awoke from a kind of twilight conscious state late Sunday night. I was on the couch, my body racked by powerful DTs and even worse visual distortions. My dictaphone was lying by my side and I felt logical enough to understand its contents.
At least I thought I was.

Hours of gibberish. Much talk of pirates, birthday and a strange technique called "The Mastodon Formation", Black Sabbath, baying at the moon, dogs barking, loud dance music, people yelling "Slut" at strangers and my own personal commentary recorded whilst in the bathroom taking a piss.
It was all madness but it did have a logical order.
It appeared on Friday night I drunk a lot and went to town. I remember the Matterhorn and drinking whisky neat for a couple hours before being harassed by a jittery security guard after I fell down in a link-way somewhere, hovering above the street between a parking building and the footpath, and refused to stand up.
When I woke up on Saturday morning I was bruised and someone had tied me to the couch.
It was very odd but not altogether unexpected.
The real weekend gig was on the Saturday night and I was ready. I didn't know what to expect, there were many variables involved and it could have gone sour at any moment but I wanted to be there to wish my good friend a very happy birthday, get as drunk as I possibly could, jump behind the decks and spin some records.
Everything went without a hitch, a night of madness like no other. Thank Christ, I was prepared for trouble but I wanted to avoid it like a leper on heat.
I found the best option was to hibernate behind the decks with a dozen beer, a pack of smokes and some hard Swedish techno.
And boy was that a good option, I sat behind those bastards for 2 hours and played a set that even Jeff Mills himself would be proud of.

My tape goes a bit funny here, it seems I was wandering around telling people how good it was to finally meet them in person and could I ask them where they gained their influences?
"In what way did the trip to India influence their latest work?"
"Do you have any empirical evidence that the fairy queen is prettier than I am?"
"Who wants to come and be a fascist with me?"
"Everyone scream like a pirate!"

Painful gibberish flows from the dictaphone into my ear and I sway as I try to get up off the couch, just press play.......

Sunday morning, wake, dress, spend an hour on the phone trying to relegate the troops and get down to some more action. Head back to the party to find people up and about eating birthday cake. I take a large slice and pour myself a whisky in a tumbler with a dark beer on the side while I decline the offer of eggs on toast. I sit on the couch next to a trusted ally and get down to discussing the poo castle and how it relates to the "The Mastodon Formation".
When the rest of my group arrive we pile in cars and head down to the waterfront to check out "The Auto Salon" show.
A man in a car next to us screams into my dictaphone as we stop next to him. I roll down the window and reach out with it as far as I can and he says,
"Its Monday tomorrow and I'm not very happy about it!" he yells before winding his window up. Before I can even contemplate a response we are moving again.
Park the car and head towards the show. By this stage I was really feeling loose in the head and it had begun to get worse. My associate and I keep fumbling and blabbering at strangers. Powerfully out of my head and getting more and more so as time went on.
"We need drinks, we must have booze!" I mutter while recoiling at the sound of my own grating voice.
"I know, we'll get some soon and head to the beach, check out the water" he replies as a strange glint lights up his eyes which goes a long way toward explaining the state of mental trouble he was having at the time. Lips pursed and voice hissing.
The car show was a complete waste of time. The cars were not really that nice and the stench of boy racers was making my head swim. So much so that I stumbled into the back of a girl then suddenly veered right and into a body builder whose forearms were thicker than my neck.
Or were they? My vision was fucking up and I couldn't tell my own body from the surroundings. After the car show it was time to check out "Armageddon". The comic book and Star Trek show. I was very interested to see what these dateless wonders had to say and to get a quote from the special guest from Star Trek.
Unfortunately I didn't have the right credentials to get in for free and the cover charge would have left us no drinking money so we decided to split from our group and head to the beach to get liquored.
We were really gone by this point and as we passed the bustop we ran into friend who’s speech was so impeded he had to say everything twice. And well why not?

Stumble into my bedroom and fall on the bed, the tape has nearly run out now but as I fall unconscious again I hear the sounds of a scuffle from the tape, a dog starts barking, people are yelling and a voice in the background is screaming......
"I AM THE PRESS!! GET YOUR DAMN HANDS OFF ME!!!!! I AM THE PRESS"

I was looking at your conversation with Philip over the sitenotice stuff, and it occurred to me something that got missed somewhere along the way. Is there a font wikis/browsers support that would do that, though? Or would he need to create it as an image? ħuman 22:54, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
I imagine the easiest way to do it would be with an image. Unfortunately, I'm no expert at fonts, so I dunno if there's one that exists already for browsers/wikis. Maybe you can find some smart monkey to give advice on that side of it. --Kels (talk) 22:57, 26 December 2009 (UTC)

## Signature

Hey, I've noticed lately that my signature isn't randomizing like it used to. Now, I just get the same note on every instance of the page when it loads... Did something change in the code that I don't know about? Thanks SirChuckBObama/Biden? 2012 21:25, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes, it did. To save on server resources, Nx made it so a template only gets parsed once per page load, and our sigs are of course templates. To beat that, you put a pipe at the end as if there is a parameter coming:
SirChuckBA product of Affirmative Action
SirChuckBBATHE THE WHALES!!!!
SirChuckBCall the FBI
And it should work again. ħuman 21:31, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Hmmmm, or not... I wonder if the help file explains it? ħuman 21:32, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
"Note that if you use random, you will have to change "Signature" in your preferences to include a pipe (|) before the closing brackets, like this: {{User:Yourname/sig|}" Do what I showed above but do it in your prefs. ħuman 21:34, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Got it just before I came back to read your response. Thanks again. SirChuckBDMorris for new Jinx! 21:37, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Please change it back. Your sig now disables the parser cache on all pages that it appears on, slowing down the load. Professor Moriarty 21:44, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
No it doesn't. You're confusing two things:
a) When you call a template without parameters, its results gets cached, so all calls to the same template on a single page will be the same. This is an optimization in MediaWiki. If there are parameters, this optimization is disabled, hence why you need to add the pipe. You need to add the pipe at every level, though it's no longer necessary to use the double template trick, you can just remove SUBST: from the nickname box in your preferences.
b) random is cached, which means sigs will only change when you reparse a page.
I fixed your sig by adding a pipe in User:SirChuckB/sig -- Nx / talk 22:14, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Oh ok, I see the what the problem is... So now all my signatures will be randomized, but the ones I signed before changing it are gonna stay the same. Is that right? SirChuckBFurther bulletins as events warrant 22:20, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Nx: when I reloaded the page, some of the sigs changed, but that was probably just the cache being purged intermittently. Professor Moriarty 22:25, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
If you didn't have the pipe in preferences, then those will be the same because of the optimization.
BTW, now you can see why template signatures are bad: editing the signature of a prominent member slows down the wiki significantly. -- Nx / talk 22:27, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I understand now. I've got it, thanks. That's also why I try to avoid changing anything about my signature. SirChuckBA product of Affirmative Action 22:30, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

## Fucked up shit

Sometimes we are all so trivial, arguing about stuff that really doesn't matter, and then the shit hits the fan and real life intrudes. RA's parents are getting divorced, and he come here to look for some support, direction, love, even. Then fucking Goonie's sister gets raped and he has the stones to tell us what he's going through, and, again, look for a little support, direction, etc. It makes little edit wars, article deletions, etc. seem so meaningless when people in our community are dealing with seriously painful shit. I have no idea why I posted this... ħuman 01:48, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

I know the feeling. Little bickerings about little matters mean nothing in the face of real life situations. I am glad that the our little community is tight enough for the most part that we can look to each other for guidance or a willing ear to listen, so to speak. Aboriginal Noise Theist, barely hanging by a nail 01:54, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
I agree, it gives us a sense of perspective. Our wiki-troubles look patently absurd compared to our real-life ones. But - and maybe this is not the place for this odd brainwave - I wonder if, as future generations become more accustomed to the internet and online communities, internet troubles will seem as real as, well, real ones. Tetronian you're clueless 03:24, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

## TK's demotion

Irrational Numbers has rights that are currently only available to crats. - π 08:00, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Oops, sorry I thought that was like being a mushroom I will undo immediately thanks ħuman 08:02, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
No, it was just that I wanted about 4 rights more than an autoconfirmed user, one was the crat right to edit the interface. - π 08:05, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
(EC)Let's make that page a little more explanatory, as in, what porn the user can access given the rights? Otherwise, all except sysop and crat look like joke groups to most of us? ħuman 08:06, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

## Cue unholy shitstorm

I don't care that you sysopped TK, but a lot of other people do. You ready for the fallout? Radioactive Misanthrope 10:46, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

So...where was the discussion where you got consensus for this little stunt? You can imagine, I'm less than thrilled about it. --Kels (talk) 00:44, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
What's he going to do besides start a block war here and there and be obnoxious? I doubt he will do any damage. Of course, I said that about MC too... Tetronian you're clueless 00:45, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
I was wondering that myself. Acei9 00:47, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Just wanting to prevent some kind of bitch session wherein everyone argues with each other. Acei9 00:52, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Ace is my brother from another mother, but I gotta disagree on this one. TK being a sysop here is made of win. He'll never be able to credibly claim we "oversighted" things against our own community standards, as he commonly does. Think this one through. 00:53, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Its been done Nutty. No matter what he will still lie even if he is a sysop. Acei9 00:56, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Look, I'm all for respecting other people and treating them as equals, but that doesn't mean I invite every Tom, Dick and Terry into my house and treat him like family. The guy is poison, and we gain nothing but grief by treating him like the good guy he has proven himself not to be. TheoryOfPractice (talk) 00:58, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

And who cares if "He can never credibly claimed..." because he never credibly claimed before and will never credibly claim anything ever again. Acei9 01:00, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
Given this guy's got a history of contacting people directly and making threats outside of CP and RW, as well as personally suffering a good deal of personal insult from him, I'd say he's a damn sight worse than MC. I say give them both the same treatment. --Kels (talk) 01:02, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure I get this. How is making him a sysop or not change his bullying? He goes berserk with the blocks and he gets promoted. If he's harassing people in private, perhaps sysoping him with flush him in to the open...δij$^{i.broke.it.}$ 01:08, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
It has been done before with less than pleasent results. TK is a horrible person with not one good feature. Acei9 01:09, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
He probably isn't "mostly harmless." Corry (talk) 01:12, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, but you are dead wrong about TK. Acei9 01:16, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

This was not a wise thing to do, and can bring no good but much mischief. I am glad it is undone.--Tom Moorefiat justitia 01:17, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure how I'm dead wrong about him...I agreed with you!! δij$^{i.broke.it.}$ 01:20, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
What I mean is that not sysopping TK doesn't make us horrible people. TK has made a lot of personal trouble for people and having him here is not wise. He is not to be trusted. Acei9 01:27, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
This would be good reading material for anybody wanting a background on TK past the last few WIGOs. Corry (talk) 01:34, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

Ace, my point was that sysoping him might force him in to the open. Obviously the man child is a complete asshole, but short of permabanning him again (from what it appears, would be a total shitshow), what are you going to do to prevent him from trying to make alliances in private? You say sysoping him a a shit idea, but I'm looking at the status quo and thinking it'd be tough to get much worst than this.

Can anyone explain what exactly he did to "bring down" RW 1.0? I've been following this site for a long time now and still have yet to figure it out. Did he go nuts with a baseball bat or something? δij$^{i.broke.it.}$ 02:24, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

I'm so bored with your whiny crap. TK hasn't been naughty on here for like a fucking year. Get over yourselves. So you hate him, so do I, who cares? ħuman 07:59, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

The problem is that TK is not "mostly harmless".--BobIt's cold! 18:12, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

## Why don't you go fuck yourself Huw?

Go start HuwWiki? Acei9 09:05, 13 January 2010 (UTC)

## TK as a sysop

Please promote him back to a regular user. It is not wise to make him a sysop.--Tom Moorefiat justitia 10:49, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

What difference does it make? Please tell me one "bad edit" (ie not "mostly harmless") he has mad, say, in the last year? ħuman 10:55, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
I can't provide an example. He has been behaving. But I feel that his past actions, and his current actions on Conservapedia, mean that he shouldn't be a sysop here. I think most everyone else agrees. I don't think it's very fair for you to decide that you are right and everyone else is wrong, even if you are very very sure you are right. Please promote him, rather than deciding that the discussion is done and you are just going to do what you want.--Tom Moorefiat justitia 11:05, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
How about we include the slap in the face this is to people who have had legitimate problems with him? --Kels (talk) 11:15, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm... are we heading for a rerun of The Great TK Banning Incident. Just by being here and not doing anything wrong Terry Koeckritz has the HCM meter at HCM4 and heading for HCM1. ToP is already sysoppng MC et al. Stay calm people. Bob Soles (talk) 18:19, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
I'll desysop TK anytime I see him sysopped. Unless there is a decision from the mob. Acei9 19:00, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

Great, and now because of all the BS Human started, I'm getting spam from the wanker. He claims to have sent it around to "various RW sysops and crats", anyone else get anything addressed to me? --Kels (talk) 19:12, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

I'll check when I get home from work but probably. Acei9 19:14, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

He sent it to me Kels. No clue why. SJ Debaser 19:21, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
I'd much prefer that "controversial" actions, such as the demotion of characters with an unpleasant history be discussed, not arbitrarily done. It doesn't take much of an imagination or sense of empathy to realise that some decisions are best made after there's been a discussion. Referring back to the earlier section "Fucked up shit": we do get too tied up in things that are ultimately trivial in the grand scheme of things, but one aspect of considerate behaviour is to accept that little problems compound matters and risk being the proverbial straw that breaks the camel's back. I'm not suggesting that we walk on egg shells everytime one of us is engulfed in tragedy, but we should try to avoid undue hassle for everyone - regardless of personal circumstances. --Ask me about your mother 19:32, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

You and I might not get one ToP as we both know TK's MO. Which is why he might contact SuperJosh but some of us older ones. I have stated quite plainly to TK what I think of him. Acei9 19:37, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
He sent me the weirdest damn thing. Apparently I haven't made it clear enough how badly I don't want to talk to any idiot at CP, unless it is in front of a crowd so I can humiliate them and their (at best) idiotic beliefs. δij$^{i.broke.it.}$ 19:51, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

## New toy

I have just wasted my afternoon learning about javascript rather than doing my thesis. Have a new toy which would allow people to have their own personal bookmark list down the side, under the community box. I would have to mess about with the common.js and the mediawiki space. The only draw back to this would be people who are not using it might see an empty box titled bookmarks appear before it disappears on the side. The only person being subjected to this at the moment is me. - π 05:58, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Interesting, I wondered what you were doing there. If only there were a way to hide/vanish it if there is no content? ħuman 06:05, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
It should hide the box if you don't have a bookmark list, although it is done using javascript which loads after the CSS. - π 06:07, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, java is ugly on wikis. I got rid of my silly "edit buttons" after adding "bold/bold" 100 times when I thought I was clicking in the edit box, then the bar would load and that's what I actually clicked on. sort of. I think your idea is good, but maybe the sidebar isn't the best place for it? Like make it a user page based feature perhaps? ħuman 06:10, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
I might shove the code I stole off MediaWiki in any way as that is useful if people want to customise any of the boxes down the side. That way if someone feels they are desperately missing something in the toolbox or navigation box they can add it themselves. - π 06:16, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
I like this idea Pi. -- =w= 06:19, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
(EC)So it would be in their css file and only appear to them? That sounds like a cool thing, a bookmarks thing might be nice. Is it a MW page, or a dropdown? ħuman 06:20, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
It will be in their javascript and only appear to them. I'll leave an explanation over at the Saloon bar. - π 06:23, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Then please after add it to the help files and the noobs page? ħuman 07:51, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

I don't think so - did anyone complain? Only comment I'd make is to keep RWW "business" to a minimum here... so I guess I didn't even notice the dead puppy. ħuman 22:05, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
K, thnx. I started pages for two items on the to do list immediately afterwards to make up for my display of ego.--Mustex (talk) 22:42, 2 February 2010 (UTC)
Hehe, cool. The LiveJournal should use that as a minor punishment: "Ye must now make 5 mainspace edits!" ħuman 22:46, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

Ok, I know I've been a bit too attention whorish with the youtube thing at times, but I was thinking of making a video where I announce that I'll donate a dollar to Haiti for every subscriber I have at the end of the month, up to \$100 (and \$.50 after that up to 200). Should I mention this in the saloon bar, or not?--Mustex (talk) 05:07, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Run with it, dude. Just ask me for production values advice first? Seriously, I know you mean well, but aim the web cam better, work on your script before reading it, etc. I don't mean that in a bad way, I just think you should learn to polish your approach. Or maybe you already have? ħuman 05:12, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
I know I need to, and plan to practice more for future videos where I pwn a specific creationist, but lately I've been doing alot more videos that are just responses to something. It's disturbing how many hits those get relative to when I actually make an effort. I'll probably announce this tomorrow.--Mustex (talk) 05:23, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

BTW, you said ask you for quality opinions. This time I actually rehearsed five or six times first, and did a second take when the first one didn't really work, and tried to aim the camera a bit more carefully. Does it show? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61L0bt-CROw --Mustex (talk) 21:06, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Apparently a large portion of people in the Saloon Bar aren't fond of conditional donations.--Mustex (talk) 01:44, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, what's up with that? Anyway, feedback... much better framing, of course, and the pace and presentation of the words is also far better (although there were weird audio/video sync issues on my "copy"). One minor thing, can you back away from the camera and zoom it to re-fill the frame? You're so close your face is warped by the short focal length/macro effect. Unless you really look like that, in which case, sorry, oops. ħuman 02:22, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, I think that your post should pascify some of the opposition against me. People really respect you. As for zooming in more, I'll have to play around with it and see what I can do.--Mustex (talk) 02:24, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I think he is actually serious about not wanting to be a part of the Limping Jerboa. Nor does he seem interested in Trent's Book of the Month Club. AnarchoGoon Swatting Assflys is how I earn my living 01:15, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, look, I appreciate the consideration and people's support and all, but really, I'd be lousy for the job. Think about it, who would have been the Loopy Jupiter's main customer over the last few months? With me on it, there'd be no work to do ;) Right now I'm just trying to improve my judgment. If I can keep my nose clean perhaps the next round of voting will find me feeling more appropriate for consideration. ħuman 02:18, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
I have to say I'm rather disappointed by that. I voted for you because I admired your stand on the controversial issues that the site encounters. That doesn't necessarily mean I agree with you all the time, but I can appreciate the spirit in which your decisions were made. I don't think electing a Lolling Jerker consisting of people who all think the same way will stop HCMs in the wider community because people will simply assume their views aren't being represented. I hoped to have a Human on the Lawyer Burglar to ensure the alternative POV was heard. If you're really sure, then I'll withdraw my vote and cast it elsewhere... but I'd rather not have to. –SuspectedReplicant retire me 02:31, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Well, thanks for the in depth explanation, and I actually hadn't thought of it that way. Other people will still be able to give input to the LayeredJumpers though, right? Amicus curiae briefs on the talk pages? I appreciate your respect for the stands I have made, which I can still do. But when I think back, three out the last four nasties that would have turned out better if the LeapingJanitors were around were caused by me. And if the LollipopJugglers make decisions enough people are unhappy with, we'll just assassinate impeach them and appoint ourselves, right? ħuman 02:38, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Well... we shall see. It appears that the Limpid Jodhpurs can't be removed and only disappear when their terms end so I don't think there's much recourse should there be wider disagreement. I'm still not convinced that the idea makes much sense. This is an allegedly Rational wiki adding a layer on top of bureaucracy. I suppose only time will tell whether or not it will work.
Anyway... on the subject at hand... I'll leave my vote with you unless you'd prefer I didn't. –SuspectedReplicant retire me 02:48, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm sure we could impeach any or all LamplitJunkies if we wanted to. They serve at our pleasure, after all. As far as your vote, I don't mind at all, I appreciate the support and hope to feel more worthy of it by next time around ;) ħuman 03:36, 4 February 2010 (UTC)
Okay... this new, humble Human is freaking me out. ## New Format

Hey, I just did a video where, for the opening, I tried to combine rehearsing with jump cutting, so I didn't have to talk continuously. My feelings on it are kind of mixed. I intentionally moved closer to and farther away from the camera for effect, but I'm not sure if it made the volume level too inconsistent. I just thought you might appreciate this little blog of commentary from one of my favorite humor blogs. Though Maddox is very much anti-PC, it helps make his blog fun to read. But, since this is the RationalWiki, I thought you'd especially like his tirade against astrology. The Spikey Punk I'm punking my punk! 23:28, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Please don't make pointless edits. You removed a section from the Canada article, writing "huh?" as your edit summary. If you're going to remove something, it really helps to explain why. You didn't, and the section was valid, so I reverted your edit. — Unsigned, by: PrincipalScudworth / talk / contribs

## message from the archivist

[7] -- =w= 02:07, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Ah, the best "bored band miming" video evah! ħuman 14:23, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
There's some terrible miming here too. Totnesmartin (talk) 14:40, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
I listened with one earphone. I was like 'This is not how I remember ;________;'. No drums! No piano! Then I tried the other one... wtf? That must be a sixties thing -- really mental use of hard panning. -- =w= 00:57, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
They hadn't really figured out how to do stereo properly yet - and were often just using 3 or 4 track masters, and just made the stereo mix by putting some on the left and some on the right. Heck, even on Sgt Pepper, the Beatles themselves only participated in the mono mix, then left the stereo mix to Emerick (and probably Martin). What's weird is the transition phase, where they were sensible with the bass and lead vocals, say, but other stuff would just get stuck in all kinds of weird places. I did some weird hard panning stuff on some of my songs just for fun, inspired by those idiots. On one the guitar and vocal, as I recall, are hard panned L and R, but there's a heavy reverb of each on the opposite channel. I think. ħuman 01:13, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
There was an interesting ramble on Pitchfork where they mentioned that bands of that era considered the mono mix the definitive version [8]. It's part of a pretty huge series about some 2009 remasters, which is all pretty much fascinating. I kinda like the idea of things in odd places, in general. I think you can get away with hard panning for almost anything. Anything except bass. +, that reverb idea you mentioned is a great way to 'mollify' the effect - I know some modern records that have the lead in L (say) and a blanket of reverb in R. The effect is very subtle - you don't hear the reverb unless you listen to R separately, you just an impression of depth. Or something. Of course, there is always the danger that Mei will think she has mislaid half the song. That is a continuing issue. -- =w= 01:38, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Cool, yeah. On my L/R reverb song it's not very subtle reverb, it's a very pronounced echo synced to the beat (which apparently my Alesis toy can do without me asking), but I can see how what you describe should work well. A lot also depends on how "natural" one wants the music to sound versus how "artificial". Oh, and that song is here. ħuman 01:46, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
PS, I saw the Boomtown Rats once and their stage setup was very interesting - the drummer was at the far left. Can't remember if it sounded that way or not though. ħuman 01:49, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
That reminds me of [9]. Except yours is much warmer somehow. Those delay/echo effects make it very warm <---- Mei likes delay. I have no idea how panning works in a live setting, but the bass drum should be ok wherever in theory. Hm..... Do people mic up (or whatever) drums when they're live? -- =w= 01:59, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Wow, that guy sounds just like my voice! I think I also got a warmer "tone" with all the nice yummy distortion on the guitar and the old tube amp. Live concerts are presented essentially via a giant stereo, everything is miked and sent to the board where it's mixed. In small venues they usually don't need to amp the drums though, so they'll sound like they are wherever they are placed. ħuman 02:13, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Vote Mei for music archivist! See also [10], just because it's a classic, especially the end. I agree that your tone is great. I know nothing about guitars, but it seems like a lot of people lose all the melodicism (not a word but I don't care) when they use distortion. It's just like listening to cotton wool. I like it when distortion actually does help the song. -- =w= 02:44, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, thanks. I appreciate it. I think it's weird Andy defended it! --UnicornTapestry (talk) 16:29, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
I pasted it into the talk page. And I think Andy defended it because "someone he didn't know was attacking a religion", if you know what I mean. ħuman 19:20, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

How is my friend Human chilling out right now? I imagine you listening to Endtroducing. -- Mei (talk) 03:17, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Actually, I'm here right now, even though I own 3 or 4 copies in hifi. It's nice to be reminded sometimes to stop and listen to great music. Pretty odd thing for a person who earns their living making speakers to need to be reminded of... I'm glad your wikibreak was short, by the way. Mei is useful. ħuman 03:26, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Just because it needs to be said--so is Human. Researcher (talk) 03:33, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, that was nice :) I'm glad some of what I do is useful. I have been working on not being "unuseful" for a bit now, and I hope it's working. Of course, Researcher is also incredibly useful. ħuman 03:39, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
Most people are more useful than Mei. 'Mei is useful' is something I say reflexively because I am insecure. Also it turns out I was wrong - it is Mei who is listening to Endtroducing. -- Mei (talk) 04:02, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

I don't really mind either way, but I thought I'd change it since I couldn't honestly rebut what the article said. About the architecture at least. -- Mei (talk) 04:43, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

I heard you were losing your mind. Is there any validity to that? Javasca₧ duuudddeee... 21:59, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

It doesn't seem to be affecting his edit count. Tetronian you're clueless 23:44, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

## Those unblocks...

Some of them were spambots, some were MC, no big deal. But Crooked Jim, who you also unblocked, left this message on the page of someone we know to be a minor. I would have no qualms about seeing him perma-banned from this community. TheoryOfPractice (talk) 04:16, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

How about just renaming it? ħuman 04:19, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
Whatever works. I know this opinion is not shared across the board, but I just think there are some lines that we can't allow people to cross in our space. Freedom of speech =/= being able to threaten violent sexual assault. I'd be perfectly happy to continue to keep a guy who made such an edit far away. That's not MC trolling stuff....TheoryOfPractice (talk) 04:22, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
Sure, but a few days of blockage makes them bored and they go away, right? Like I wouldn't unblock someone that was blocked an hour ago, that would be stupid. ħuman 04:34, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

You're prolly right. But if he does it again I'll....I'll...I'll do something realllly unpleasant. TheoryOfPractice (talk) 04:39, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Crooked Jim is a sockpuppet master and uses a proxy to come trash this site now and then. He's the one that I believe is from metapedia, because he's also the very, very Neo-Nazi one. Look at the account's I've renamed to Silly Vandal something or anothers. Punky Your mental puke relief 05:45, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
