hey[edit]

I thought you should know that i'm putting a message here. --MikallakiM 08:06, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

And you both should know that I am responding to Mikal's message here. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 08:25, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
The proper authorities have been informed. Peter mqzp 18:32, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
I remember having this whole big reason to message you that 2 am Mikal thought was important, but i've forgotten it. --MikallakiM 04:31, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Run-ins with the men in black will do that, yep. Peter mqzp 04:33, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Block messages[edit]

Hi Peter--when you block a vandal/Brasov, can you mark it as such in the comment? Once the IP vandalism has run its course, we might want to unblock some of those IPs, and if they're marked as spambots, they may stay unnecessarily blocked. Polar Bear in the Jungle Peter Tosh > Bob Marley 01:44, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

He's using proxies, which will become blocked by the proxie filter just as soon as the lists update with them. There won't be any point in unblocking, and even if we did that why not just unblock all IPs blocked during this period? Peter mqzp 01:46, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Well, there is talk of turning the proxy filter off, and then some unblocking would be in order, and if we unbloclked all the IPs, we'd be inadvertently be unblocking spambots, but really, "meh," whatever. It was just a thought. Never mind. Polar Bear in the Jungle Peter Tosh > Bob Marley 01:50, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
If we added "vandal attack du jour" to the dropdown that might work, but typing "Brasov" every time takes too long. Peter mqzp 02:09, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Once you use it once, your browser will remember it. But like I said, whatever. Polar Bear in the Jungle Peter Tosh > Bob Marley 02:53, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Maybe next time. Peter mqzp 02:56, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Ahh the old days when you could edit the MW space helpfully. Hey Peter I just spelled your name out in Adderalls and Xanaxes. Do you want a pic? Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg 04:43, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
If you like. Peter mqzp 04:46, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
I emailed it to you. It's only so-so. I need more pills but I eat them all. Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg 04:48, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Impressive. But why oh why is there an extra round one on the bottom of the R at the expense of the T? Peter mqzp 04:50, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
I don't know. It's not art until you mess around with it a few times. I'll send you another. Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg 04:51, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Ok I just fired up Photoshop. It's time to do this some other time. Nutty Roux100x100 anarchy symbol.svg 04:53, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

where is your tech god now[edit]

Where is your tech god now!--MikallakiM 22:15, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Muttering in the corner about nazis? I don't really know. Peter mqzp 22:17, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

Apply for tech already[edit]

You're good with MediaWiki and javascript, and you're around way more than Trent, David, Nutty, Tyrannis, or Blue. We could use you. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 01:12, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

If by "good" you mean "sometimes knows a solution to the problem"—chances are Nx will come along and say that that's a very inefficient way to do it or whatever. And term will start soon enough, you know. Peter mqzp 01:16, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
You mean you're not some sort of Kiwi automaton? Dang. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 01:28, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
You're thinking of Mr McWicked. Peter mqzp 01:31, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Certainly not. "Automaton" would imply they actually do stuff :-) Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 01:32, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Big molecules[edit]

Look at Proteopedia with Java enabled. sterilesporadic heavy hitter 12:23, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

I take it you do not like people who hate Nazis[edit]

Based on your behavior, I have decided to warn you against taking action against users who hate Nazis, as this causes serious concern about your political views. Please be aware that pro Nazi behavior will result in being blocked from Rational Wiki. ఠ_ఠ Тод Зенос ан форфар фор 08:03, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Really, really bad jokes. You need to work on that. Peter mqzp 08:08, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Mikulski[edit]

You can't ban me because my post on Mikulski is true. She has (based on height) as big of a B.M.I. as Barney does. It's also very creative and unusual. Also, now that I think about it, don't you think it would be hot if her and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen had hate sex on the Congress floor with the type of subtlety and bad acting that a porn movie has? I'd pay like $75 or more to see that. --209.18.48.12 (talk) 06:58, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Nobody is banning you, but your WIGO submission was commented out because WIGO:World is not the appropriate location to call women fat. Please read the newcomer guide and community standards. Ochotonaprincepsnot a pokémon 06:59, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
I have the rollback and reviewer permissions on Wikipedia and I have influential friends on Encyclopedia Dramatica that I'm doing an important project for so I already know how wiki's work and the type of rules they require. --209.18.48.12 (talk) 07:03, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
That's nice, but you clearly don't know how things work here. Please read the community standards. Ochotonaprincepsnot a pokémon 07:05, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
Assume good faith. --209.18.48.12 (talk) 07:10, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
RationalWiki Is Not Wikipedia. Peter mqzp 07:11, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
(edit conflict, whee) Maybe you haven't figured it out, but this isn't Wikipedia. You made an edit to WIGO:World that was inappropriate. I commented it out and then gave you the standard welcome template and asked you to read the community standards. I am asking you to please read the community documentation for the wiki you wish to contribute on. I do not believe that I am being unreasonable, here. Ochotonaprincepsnot a pokémon 07:12, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

I'm a Wikipedia administrator, so your claims about having rollback over there don't impress anyone much, and don't mean squat anyway. VOXHUMANA 07:57, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

But they're "influential" on ED. You can't take that from them! Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 10:14, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
Shouldn't being influential on ED give you less credibility? (talk to a) Nihilist 22:18, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the fix[edit]

Should have fixed it myself, sorry for the mishap! Captain Swing (bringer of nachos) 03:17, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Whaddya think of...[edit]

User:Voxhumana/Sandbox#Format_experiments. The only reason I want sections is because without them writing the annotations will be a nightmare. But apparently we don't need any words in the section headers, and we can still get the "edit" buttons. VOXHUMANA 07:39, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

That looks pretty good, actually—though it will mean that I need to remove the references to "in this section" I've placed in the annotations, but that's no biggie. Also, have you encountered the {{sbs}} template? It may simplify the column arrangement, if you can figure out how to use it. Peter mqzp 07:44, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
Yeah SBS was the very first thing I tried. I got it to work but I didn't like the results. To be honest though, I'm struggling to remember off hand what is was I didn't like (I tried so many different things)... I think it was the fact it put big headings in places I didn't want. VOXHUMANA 08:06, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
I don't think you have to use those headings, which are pretty ugly now that you mention it. So long as we don't break them the table system should be fine though. Peter mqzp 08:10, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
OK, I'll cut and paste some text into a sandbox page and we'll see how we go with SBS again. VOXHUMANA 08:30, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

OK, I remember now! This was the problem, to add a commentary you have to type inside the template brackets {{sbs|Original text|Rational response}}. Once there was more than a few lines of text it became really hard to figure out where to start typing. Being able to click on a simple "EDIT" button was so much easier. VOXHUMANA 08:35, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

I think you can still put headers inside the sbs template (so long as you remember the "1=" part). Anyway, some of us have to sleep—I'll be back in 12 hours or so to write some more. Peter mqzp 08:38, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
No prob, I've got a client here waiting to start recording and I'm pretending I'm doing something relevant. See you tomorrow. VOXHUMANA 08:41, 21 March 2013 (UTC)

Kind of figured[edit]

When I saw the change in the activity log, I kind of figured it wasn't admin. Captain Swing (bringer of nachos) 05:54, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

And now that I have seen the changes log again, I would like to say thank you :). Captain Swing (bringer of nachos) 05:57, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
