Did you see how long it took to clear up my userspace and sigs when I renamed myself?? DID YOU??? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 14:59, 22 September 2008 (EDT)

Well I certainly don't wear pink hot pants. Or any hot pants, for that matter. Ever. You can write that down. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 16:56, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
(EC)None of us could. It is one of the great mysteries the answer to which no mortal shall ever know, along with other mysteries like the true nature of the Holy Trinity and the exact number of female religious orders in the Catholic Church. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 16:59, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
Putting together Kektklik's question and AKjeldsen's mysteries... is Pink an angel? Editor at CPSig(h)! 17:13, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
An intersting idea, but frankly, I doubt it. I would expect an angel to have a better taste in music. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:18, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
Silence, Anders.
I hereby approve this idea. Would I need to speak latin or something? Do I need to be interviewed by God first? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 17:27, 22 September 2008 (EDT)
I'm afraid I don't have much experience in angelology, but I don't think there are any particular language requirements. Angels can speak any language they need to, as far as I remember. On the other hand, you'd probably have to give up your free will. Bad experiences with that, you know. Rebellion in Heaven and fallen angels and all that.
For further information, please see this helpful instructional video. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 18:30, 22 September 2008 (EDT)

Pagan or animist? Hardly, good sir! Surely, a band that wrote a song called I Wish I Had an Angel must be good Christians through and through. Why else would they wish they had an angel? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 19:11, 22 September 2008 (EDT)

But essentially, I think you should go with Essayist!RARandom line. Ah, but if I wasn't around with my negative spin, you wouldn't have the opportunity to argue against me, thus getting an opportunity to further embellish your achievements. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 12:48, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Not so. If you spun things positively -- especially things that might be, for the sake of argument, mind-levellingly laborious -- it would be much nicer, and would make me feel all nice.
Plus, when you walk down the street in your crimson frock coat, the gentlefolk would say "My word! There goes a nice fellow!"
Or somesuch. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 13:08, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Sorry. You're right. It's important work, and I for one would never have had the attention span to do it. And I hope your life force recovers soon.
Not that I actually own a "crimson frock coat", mind you. I do have a grey trenchcoat, though. And a really nice hat. ^_^ --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 14:47, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
But if you don't have a crimson frock coat, what do you wear whilst japing? </perplexed> New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 14:51, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Contrary to the common opinion, it is in fact perfectly possible to jape whilst wearing clothes other than crimson frock coats. In my case, I usually wear much the same as what I do when not japing, i.e. a discreetly casual shirt and trousers. And a trenchcoat and hat if it's outdoors. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 14:56, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
I shall ignore your blatant ignorance of the finer points of japing. And your trenchcoat and hat remark makes me imagine some kind of pirate. What kind of hat are we talking about here? How many types of ornamental fruit? Roughly? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 15:03, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Black trilby, precisely zero pieces of ornamental fruit. The idea is that you should imagine a dashing and mysterious figure like Sam Spade or Philip Marlowe, not a pirate. Who ever heard of a pirate in a trenchcoat, anyway? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:06, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Dashing? Where are you dashing? Somewhere mysterious, no doubt? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 15:19, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Oh, dear. Your relentless punning dash my feeble attempts at witticism. :-( --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:25, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Doesn't Yahtzee have a trilby? Are you a detective? What colour is groove? Can I have another muffin? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 15:27, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Yes, Yahtzee has a trilby, and this fact significantly contributed to my decision to also acquire one. I am indeed a detective, in the sense that researching history is much the same as investigating crimes, except with less risk of being shot at (Usually). Groove is apparently predominantly white, plus some colours I have no idea what are or even knew existed. I'd be happy to send you a muffin, but I think it'd be quite stale by the time it got to... wherever it is you are. Also, I think you're channelling Millicent again. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:33, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Yours looks better than his. Although, admittedly, I only know yours from my imagination, in which I have defiantly characterised you as a most buckle-swashing pirate.
In other news, some Millie strips are almost absurd in their resemblence of Me. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 15:42, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Update: I never cease to be amazed. It's almost like a window into my mind ^_^ New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 15:48, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Very interesting. :-) I don't know if I can quite live up to this new constructed image of Me as a pirate. Although I did take a few fencing lessons once. Until I found out I sucked at it and quit. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 15:53, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
You need:
  1. Long, tangled beard
  2. Crimson frock coat (wif gold bits)
  3. Ship (Don't forget this part)
  4. Cool pirate name ("Arrr! I be... Kjeldsen!" ... "Get off my ship.")
  5. Plunder
  6. To drink some grog.
I think that's about it. What are you waiting for? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 16:02, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
I can handle the beard, given a bit of time, a coat, a name, and grog. But the other two could be a problem. And what about wenches? All the other pirates would laugh if there aren't any wenches. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 16:42, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
With plunder, comes wenches. How can you aspire to Piracy if you don't understand basic pirate logic like that?? I can always lend you the Jellygalleon if you've not got a ship -- but I'm far more interested to hear about your pirate name! New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 16:45, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
So be it. I shall be Capitaine André, le Loup de la Mer. And may le Diable take those who cross my bow. Avast! --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:17, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
You can't be captain. I'm captain. You're my first mate. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 17:18, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
This was not in the contract. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:21, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
It was in the puntastic "Mating" section. Possibly my favourite section ^_^
Would you rather be something else? I'm sure we could both be captains if you insist -- although we'd have to share all privileges and authority, of course Nods.gif New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 17:24, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Nono. That would be confusing to the crew, the poor little things. I think it's a well-established pirate rule that in the end, the pirate with the coolest name gets to be captain. So if you can come up with a cooler name than mine, you get to be captain. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:26, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
I shall be Captain Pink, of course. I'm surprised you ask. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 17:36, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
"Captain Pink"? What sort of a name is that? Do you think the Royal Navy will shake in their leaky boots when they hear that "Captain Pink" has set sail? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:39, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Yes. The incongruity between my name and my bloodthirsty legacy will give my persona the illusion of mystery. Basic psychology, AK. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 17:42, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
Okay, you can be captain, but only because it occurred to me that I hate being a leader. But for the record, I still think it's a silly name for a pirate. You could at least think of a byname as well. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:51, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
"Pinkie"? *tugs your coat* What's a byname? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 17:53, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
It's an extra name you use to inspire even more fear and trepidation in your enemies. "Capt'n Pink the something-or-other." I think it's called a byname, anyway. Nickname? Nom de guerre? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 18:17, 25 September 2008 (EDT)

:D Well, *I* always thought of myself as just *perfect* for Minister of Propaganda, Pedantry, and Punctuation...there WILL be a place for punctuation in the nouveau régime, yes? --Purple George!YossieSpring in Fialta 13:01, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
A most pedantic one, I expect :) But I am puzzled as to how you hope to combine this with propaganda? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 13:03, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
Oh, well, you see, our, that is, your, government would have a monopoly on all punctuation use. And THAT WAY, we, that is, you, would be in firm control over all subversive clauses and anarchistic grammar(s). Also, we could increase efficiency by 20% with the introduction of the interrobang into common usage! --Purple George!YossieSpring in Fialta 13:10, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
I'm afraid I could never allow my stewardship to be sillied sullied by such heresy. Plus, your plan to hoard punctuation is, unfortunately, quite impractical. Please pack all your novelty life-sized interrobangs (yes, we've all seen them, Mr Yossarian; they stick out of your bag) and begone from my evil lair!
You may redeem yourself by making me waffles. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 13:16, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
<tearfully uses novelty interrobang to stir waffle batter> What <sniff> do you like on them? --Purple George!YossieSpring in Fialta 13:18, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
Syrup, cream and bacon. (Seriously, but not more than once a year...)
<tactful>Only, you shouldn't really stir the batter; you're supposed to fold it, so you don't squash the air out of it and it stays light...</tactful> New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 13:24, 27 September 2008 (EDT)
If I get this down, can I be Minister of Waffles? I'll even get rid of my interrobangs. Even the one I put on my design submission for your evil flag. --Purple George!YossieSpring in Fialta 13:30, 27 September 2008 (EDT)

And yes, you can by Minister of Waffles. The post is... um... vacant. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 13:33, 27 September 2008 (EDT)

You really don't like Garfield, do you? ^_^ New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 18:19, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
All I'm saying is, when a comic is improved significantly by removing the main character entirely, something went wrong somewhere. Still, it could be worse. It could be Family Circus. Or Drabble. *shudder* --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 18:26, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
Garfield Minus Garfield is depressing. Anyway, I have never heard tell of these other comicks you mention. Be they as awful as you imply, Daneman? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 18:35, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
G-G is not depressive, Captain Pink, it is existential. It explores the deep existential angst that is the inevitable companion of the blandly suburban way of life in a post-modern world. Incidentally, comics like Family Circus and Drabble are much the same, only unintentionally. Family Circus, for instance, has run continuously since 1960 with the same uninteresting characters, living in the same uninteresting suburban environment, doing and saying more or less the same uninteresting things. It's like a horrible, horrible nightmare version of Groundhog Day. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 18:47, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
Right, and in it's marvellous existentialism, it finds a deep deep well of depressiveness. I still don't see how Camily Fircus and... that other thing you mentioned... could be so popular without having drawn my attention. Where are they printed? Newspapers? Underneath milk cartons? New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 18:57, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
Mostly American newspapers, I believe. Of course, in this modern day and age, they have websites. http://www.familycircus.com/ and http://www.comics.com/comics/drabble/. Access these at your own risk. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 19:14, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
Writing a Popular & GenericTM comic strip looks intriguingly easy, Mr AK Jeldsen. New3.pngPink(Astronomy Domine) 19:24, 28 September 2008 (EDT)
Yes. Yes, it does, Mr/Mrs/Ms/Dr/etc. Pink. If there were someone available to actually draw the stuff, it would more or less write itself. By which I mean you could probably lift everything you need from other comics without anyone noticing. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 19:31, 28 September 2008 (EDT)

A woman comes home on Valentine's Day with a duck under her arm. Her husband meets her at the door. She says, "This is the pig I'm fucking."
"That's not a pig, it's a duck," he replies.
"I was talking to the duck."

Enquiry[edit]

Okay. What do I have to do to convince you to change the colour of those little messages in your sig? Right now, the only way I can read them is by highlighting them, which is sort of inconvenient, but I do it anyway because they might say something interesting. I hope we can reach some sort of negotiated solution on this issue. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:10, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

In fact, I was about to slightly alter my sig, and I think you'll find the new colour scheme quite straightforward to read. I am touched that you would attempt to read such silly messages in their current colour, though ^_^ New3.pngPink(Yay!) 17:14, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Actually, you can help. Can you find me a picture of some holly? (On a white background, of course) New3.pngPink("My sig doesn't look right"TM) 17:18, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Oh, don't worry. I'll do it myself *sulk* New3.pngPink(Good at sulking) 17:26, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Always happy to accept blame. I consider it a civic duty. Giving back to the community etc. But anyway - isn't it a bit early for Christmas decorations? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 17:42, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
No! No it isn't!
Anyway, I think I found a nice one in that site you directed me to. I've had to tidy it up a bit -- taking only a little bit from the big image. I hope this works... New3.pngPink("Outspoken but never outnumbered"TM) 17:45, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Well, happy "Still 82 Days to Christmas" Day, then. Here's a little something to go with it. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 18:12, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
It's Christmas right now as far as I'm concerned. And thank you for that video -- music was sweet; singer was weird. New3.pngPink(I'm going to go back to being a mowse once New Year comes.) 18:25, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Pink... just as in Real Life, Christmas doesn't come any sooner just because you start hanging up decorations and stuff. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 18:46, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Eh? Christmas is decorations, my dear Andreas. New3.pngPink(Essentially...) 19:08, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
But what about the message? The symbolism? The anticipation? The loot gifts? The magic? :-( --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 19:20, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Indeed, those are the most important parts, and I concede that they are far more important than decorations, but they are each closely tied with the decorations. Hanging them up sooner, does extend the period of magicness. Besides, it's freezing here, so it feels like Christmas to me :P New3.pngPink(Brrr) 19:27, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
Hmm. I would have thought putting decorations up earlier would only water down the magic as they gradually enter the realm of the horribly quotidian, rather than announcing a brief but special time of the year? --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 19:40, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
You're forgetting the First Law of Chocolate -- more is always better.
And re:Ozy&Millie, yes I think there was. I can't remember what it was, though -- that strip needs a search engine! New3.pngPink("Yeah I made that law up"TM) 19:59, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
I must admit I question this "First Law of Chocolate". Not least because there is such a thing as theobromine poisoning. Christmas is much the same. Except that instead of dying horribly from unmetabolizable chemicals, you want to kill yourself as the initial feeling of Christmas cheer gradually turns into the unavoidable ennui of the Everyday. But otherwise it's much the same. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 06:43, 3 October 2008 (EDT)
Um... Theobromine poisoning? New3.pngPink(I have to make some calls...) 12:10, 4 October 2008 (EDT)
Nonetheless, I stand by my silly law! New3.pngPink(:P) 12:10, 4 October 2008 (EDT)
Yes. Theobromine is an alkaloid present in chocolate. If you eat more of it than the body can metabolize, it flows around in your blood stream and basically acts as a nerve poison, causing all sorts of unpleasant conditions. Humans can handle pretty high amounts, but certain animals can't - dogs, for instance. So never give chocolate to your dogs or cats. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 12:31, 4 October 2008 (EDT)
