Writing[edit]

"It is known (by whom?) many of the "science" professors got their undergraduate degrees from BJU then got their PhD's from good universities (really? do you have any examples?), (This should be the start of a new sentence) you would think (don't tell me what I would think) by going to a good college you would learn creationism is nonsense (depends what you study, I imagine. They don't teach that sort of thing in accounting departments, for example. More to the point, people are free to reject any idea they are confronted with) but that is not the case." Try again. More tips.[edit]

Articles need links to other articles. Articles need to be linked to FROM other articles. And they need categories. And stubby articles could use the "stub" template. You'll get there. PowderSmokeAndLeather (talk) 17:53, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

It's means "it is". Its is possessive. Also, your attempts at "snark" were wretched. Consider whether anyone wishing to learn something about the ICR, rather than just come here to bask in your editorial glory and personal opinion, might appreciate your contribution. About the only people I can imagine who might are people coming to reinforce their biases, who I dearly hope don't sign up for accounts, and you. Nutty Roux (talk) 16:21, 30 May 2014 (UTC)

forums[edit]

try and not be so spammy with new forum making, maybe? esp. ones that could go elsewhere.--Miekal 04:03, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Gonna reiterate this. Try going to the RationalWiki:Saloon_bar -- more people will comment there, and it creates fewer new pages. Herr FuzzyKatzenPotato (talk/stalk) 16:59, 2 June 2015 (UTC)

Guys, don't be so harsh on the guy. This is superminor stuff. 141.134.75.236 (talk) 16:33, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Somebody going around leaving a bunch of dead forum posts is not good. We're asking him to stop, he hasn;t, so now we're just deleting them. --Miekal 16:36, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
Again, someone creating a few superfluous forum pages seems like a very minor issue. 141.134.75.236 (talk) 21:24, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Fine, go right a head. Last time I checked a forum was meant for discussion.--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 16:29, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

That would imply there's a discussion to be had in your forum posts.--Miekal 16:36, 13 June 2015 (UTC)
You don't discuss, you post some random stray thought (maybe 2 in some) and then walk away and start a new "discussion." -EmeraldCityWanderer (talk) 18:38, 13 June 2015 (UTC)

Fine, I won't post squat on the forums. You know everything I say is spam but what would really be spam is me making a discussion about anime or the best horror movies. Happy now? or is this reply spam too?--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 00:41, 14 June 2015 (UTC)

Don't be a drama llama. No one is denying your ability to use the forums, that is possible, it's just don't start conversations constantly and never come back to them. It's really not a huge deal just to have an oops. -EmeraldCityWanderer (talk) 14:05, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

Okay that is fine, I won't use the forum that much--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 01:26, 2 July 2015 (UTC)

again![edit]

Please stop using the forums for the wrong kinds of discussion, you even edited the talk page and article that comment could have gone on! Please, the saloon bar exists for most discussions, the forum should be reserved for more particular kinds that might actually last a while and thus overextend the Bar or be hurt by archiving. --"Paravant" Talk & Contribs 23:52, 20 August 2015 (UTC)

Okay okay, I will use the saloon bar. Sorry--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 01:41, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Please add a few references[edit]

Hey there. I noticed you recently created a few pages: Biola University, Georgia Christian University, and Oval Bible College. Good work! However, I noticed that all contain some pretty specific claims such as "They teach creationism as fact", "Bible studies make up 30 credit hours of every degree program", "This school teaches Young Earth Creationism", "Students must sign a statement of faith", and more. We're not as stringent as Wikipedia when it comes to referencing, but pages without any references are rather frowned upon, especially if it makes very specific claims. Could you perhaps add these references to these pages? The basic procedure is just adding <ref>http://...</ref> right after the claim. Also see Help:References for some more advanced usage and styling tips. Thanks! Carpetsmoker (talk) 02:25, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the tip--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 02:29, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

Please, stop.[edit]

I'm tired of cleaning up after you. Please stop adding superfluous articles in the fundie school space. If you think there's a need for a new article there, please bring it up on the talk page. That's what it's there for. --Cosmikdebris (talk) 02:20, 31 October 2015 (UTC)

What he said. Look how much work your writing needs to make it even begin to look decent. Please learn how to write. Peace. AgingHippie (talk)

Really, please stop[edit]

When you have something to say about an article, post it on that article's talk page, not in the Bar. Why is that so hard for you? Peace. AgingHippie (talk) 05:46, 3 December 2015 (UTC)

Just a little something[edit]

Hello! I saw your thread in the Saloon Bar, and your post made me think about ways in which I might be able to be of any help to you — even in the smallest of ways. So, I decided to put together a little playlist of videos that I hope will lend you any type of food-for-thought, serenity or — fingers crossed — even useful advice for when things are tough.

Now, granted, these are really intended for when you're feeling well enough to view videos and think in therapeutic terms. But since they're of use even to people without schizophrenia, they should be general enough to perhaps offer you something as well. This is my humble hope, and I don't expect much. But in my mind — that is, to me — they help "grease the gears" of therapeutic thinking. I wish you the same, if nothing else.

You can pick and choose freely based on which titles seem the most interesting, but I've chosen them all in an attempt to be relevant towards your the problems you mentioned in the Saloon Bar (except for schizophrenia — none of them deals directly with that, though most if not all "deal indirectly" with it). That is, the videos I've chosen are all focused around the sensation of making mistakes and blaming oneself, on directing powerful negative emotion toward oneself, and (one video) on coherency of thought.

The videos are all taken from School Of Life, a channel I highly recommend, which skillfully unites a modern psychoanalytic thinking with philosophy, science and the history of ideas. Each is about 5 minutes long, and some closer to 10 — meaning, they're all just about the right length to sow interesting thoughts in your mind without turning into lectures.

The three main picks I strongly advise you to see first[edit]

  1. Overcoming Bad Inner Voices
  2. Why You Shouldn't Trust Your Feelings
  3. On Being Out of Touch With One's Feelings

On guilt, shame, and negative feelings directed against the self[edit]

  1. Why Introspection Matters
  2. The Weakness of Strength
  3. Self Sabotage
  4. Self Compassion
  5. The Importance of Self-Pity
  6. Why We're All So Anxious
  7. Confidence

On coherency in thought[edit]

  1. What is the Stream of Consciousness?

I wish you all the best, and I hope they're of any use at all. And remember, don't hesitate to get in contact with professionals, should you need it. You're brave to do so! Th hug.gif All the best, Reverend Black Percy (talk) 00:37, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Thank you, I will get to them when I can. It was a long day and I really am not in the mood to watch YouTube videos but I will watch most likely tomorrow. Anyways I really am happy that someone I don't know wants to help. Thank you and I will being watching tomorrow in my spare time. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO LEND A HAND< I REALLY MEAN IT! THIS MAKES ME VERY HAPPY!!!!!!!!! May the divine bless you, even thinking about someone's suffering and wanting to help is a very compassionate gesture. I will watch when I can! :) --Rationalzombie94 (talk) 01:16, 3 December 2016 (UTC)
That makes me happy to hear, too! I hope you will find the videos produced by School of Life as remarkably lucid and thought-provoking as I do. And thanks for not watching them until you're in the mood — that just means you're giving the videos (and yourself) a fair chance! Th hug.gif All the best, Reverend Black Percy (talk) 01:46, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

No Shame[edit]

Hey, I just want to say power to you for being open about your mental health. I've always been a big proponent of getting rid of the stigma around discussing mental health, since I have some issues, and when people like yourself speak up it encourages me to be brave and speak up to.

My motto is "No Shame" when it comes to asking for help with problems, but I felt the need to come to your talk page and let you know what you did took balls. If you ever want to talk, I'll do my best to listen. Diogenes of Wilmington (talk) 08:05, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

Well the reason I am up front with people about my mental health is to determine my actual friends and those who are phony friends, I am glad I am getting support.--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 15:59, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

Omnitheism[edit]

I'm interrested in your belief in omnitheism, which has always attracted me (I'm personally divided between atheism and omnitheism). Do you believe, like the bible describes, that God rules on other gods ? Or another form of omnitheism ? Diacelium (talk) 20:32, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

I do not believe the Christian God is the supreme God but equal among the other Gods/Goddesses and serves a role in maintaining the universe. Now two weeks ago I was having a chat on Facebook IM with the head of the Wiccan church known as the Aquarian Tabernacle Church and she did not like the idea that I believe in the Christian God with every other God thought of by man plus ones that alien lifeforms thought of. Last time I checked Wiccans are supposed to respect someone's spiritual path, correct me if I am wrong. Then again, a religious belief system can teach freedom and independence but the ones leading a church can become corrupt and extremist.--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 23:20, 5 December 2016 (UTC)
Hm... what do you think of the gods of parody religion like the Invisible Pink Unicorn or the Flying Spaghetti Monster? What about pantheistic gods like Spinoza's God? And gods that haven't been revealed yet? And concerning the theistic egalitarianism: You said that god is equal among the other Gods/Godesses, but some religions have a some sort of hierarchy. Take the ancient Greek or Roman pantheon, for example... in these religions, Zeus/Jupiter ranks higher than the other gods (I'll just take the masculine form from now on). Who is the Christian God, for example, equal to? Zeus or Athena? --Imaginative username (talk) 14:10, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Health[edit]

Look it man, I have mental health issues of my own. They are more of a pain in the ass rather than a real hindrance to my life - I just have a slight propensity toward depression and anxiety which I have found a course of low medication to assist so I'm now fine and dandy. You want to not smoke but need the nicotine. Go E-Cig. Seriously man, its the best option. Acei9 10:33, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

I am glad I got through the last two days (Depression and Psychosis), I am ready to fight another day. Quoting a Japanese proverb, "Fall seven times, stand up eight"--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 23:27, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Bias on steroids[edit]

The article on the unaccredited, Neopagan College of Inner Awareness, Metaphysical, and Spiritual Studies has an argument against classifying it as a diploma mill, yet the nationally accredited Pensacola Christian College, which has a full fledged residential campus, and for which the same arguments would apply, is a diploma mill according to its article. Really? I can appreciate different opinions, but either people here are completely clueless about PCC, completely clueless of CMS, deliberately distributing conflicting information, or just on some good drugs. Ricky's Wiki (talk) 19:27, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

I was not the one who listed Pensacola Christian College as a Diploma mill.--Rationalzombie94 (talk) 13:10, 10 March 2017 (UTC)
I agree, using the term "diploma mill" is a bit harsh in the context of Pensacola Community College. I've softened the language in the introductory paragraph a bit. Regards, Cosmikdebris (talk) 20:15, 10 March 2017 (UTC)

TRACS[edit]

Hi, where did you get the news that TRACS was on probation? I could find no such news or source on the internet. So I reverted your change to Boston Baptist College. Besides, such information about TRACS should be in the TRACS article itself. Regards, Cosmikdebris (talk) 16:34, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
