The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is the organization which advocates for intellectual property rights through its member states and attempts to conform all intellectual property rights between them. The WIPO currently has 184 signatory member states, including Britain and the United States of America.[1]

[edit] Treaties and Conventions

The WIPO is responsible for intellectual property treaties such as the Berne Convention and the WIPO Convention. Though adaptation of the WIPO's treaties and conventions is strongly recommended for its member states, several countries have not adapted any of the treaties, and only the Republic of Moldova has enacted all the treaties in force by the WIPO.[2]
