It would also be fun if you would tell us which article was your "landing point" here.

  • I help founded it...so maybe you could say...RationalWiki found me. tmtoulouse frustrate 16:13, 23 November 2007 (EST)
  • Trent (Tmtoulouse) invited me to RW 1.0 while I was frustrated over at Conservapedia and a few of us thought we were starting a little "sane people's club". It turns out there already was one here. humanUser talk:Human 16:14, 23 November 2007 (EST)
  • Read about it in a New Zealand blog which I have never been able to find again. Susan... miaow ... 16:23, 23 November 2007 (EST)
  • By complete chance looking for random wikis-Shangrala 16:30, 23 November 2007 (EST)
  • Tmtoulouse invited my friend Helios to RW 1.0 who then told me about the site. - Icewedge 16:38, 23 November 2007 (EST)
  • I don't remember. I may have been drinking. Actually, I wish i had kept some notes about that. I know it was pretty damn early. If anyone remember who sent me this way... I remember having a lot of fun creating mocking articles at RW 1.0.--PalMD-If it looks like a donut, eat it 18:57, 23 November 2007 (EST)
  • Was invited to RW 1.0 by some cabalist (Ames?) soon after the Night of the Blunt Knives. Totally denied my knowledge of the site to Andy, and stayed at CP for four months. --Ζωροάστρης 19:02, 23 November 2007 (EST)
  • Got invited to RW1 by tmtoulouse himself just after it was founded, if I recall correctly. I'd have to check my old mails, but I'm pretty sure it was him. --Sid 19:15, 23 November 2007 (EST)
  • Was invited by a sock of AmesG after handing Andy his ass on the Main Talk page, resulting in it being briefly shutdown. See the complete text on my user page. Stile4aly 20:09, 23 November 2007 (EST)
  • Invitation at RW1 inception from TM.--Bobbing up 04:43, 24 November 2007 (EST)
  • I think it was ColinR that invited me to RW1.0 April or May 2007. CЯacke®
  • After being labelled the first "terrorist" at CP, TK told me to "Go and join your friends at rationalwiki". So I did, but that was the first I'd heard of it. Genghis Khant 06:30, 24 November 2007 (EST)
  • I've lived through it all ~ I was there when Ken joined, and when he was sysopped. I remember TK's first brown-nosing edits. I remember Trent's brief reign as sysop, and my own hilarious yet ultimately failed (although much-supported... thanks guys!) run for sysop. I remember letting my invitation to RW1 languish in my inbox for a while, but I was there when we were "reported to the FBI." And I've been here ever since....-αmεσ (tailor)
  • Found some "site that must not be named" talk at CP and used Google somehow.--Bayesupdate 04:42, 25 November 2007 (EST)
  • Was invited to RW1.0 by Trent, before the Night of the Blunt Knives. airdish 15:11, 25 November 2007 (EST)
  • I was welcomeded at CP by Leopeo, who was then banned (I think he's back on now)- he recommended RW while I was blocked for "breaking" the 90/10 rule (by, er, contributing to the debate pages. Go figure). At roughly the same time I was invited by SusanG on my Wikipedia talk page. not sure which came first. Totnesmartin 16:23, 25 November 2007 (EST)
  • I emailed human through CP email, asking what the Cabal (there is no cabal) was, and he had Trent invite me to RW 1.0. ΓHammer and Sickle text gold.svgδλεσςΛιβεραλ 17:47, 25 November 2007 (EST)
  • I honestly don't remember how I found it. But I'm glad I did. --Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 08:49, 18 February 2008 (EST)
  • Don't know why I never posted on this page ... I was booted by TK in May '07, as part of the Night of Blunt Knives, because I enjoyed pointing out his lack of wiki-knowledge and general retardation. Jrssr5 09:51, 1 April 2008 (EDT)
  • (September) I found it on Wikipedia's article on Conservapedia (or its talk page, can't remember.) NightFlare 19:35, 23 December 2007 (EST)
  • One day hanging out in #conservapedia, a RationalWiki recruiter had a table set up with cookies. I like cookies. --Interiot 00:14, 4 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Can't say as I really remember, but I'm in this timeframe. I think I was reading various articles on Wikipedia about right-wing this-or-thats and somehow got here. --Edgerunner76 Mary Magdalene In The Cave.jpg
  • Colin and Trent sold their souls to me for a server. Phallus of Satan 22:48, 21 November 2009 (UTC)
  • I started watching CP back during the initial blogrush started spreading around Andy's early crazy, and got hooked. I never did sign up for an account or sock, but I kinda got to be a fan of the antics of the actually intelligent people who bedevilled the site and generally argued rings around Andy, Ken and company. So in March '07 I sent a couple of messages just to say how much I appreciated the entertainment, and ended up invited to the original RW 1.0...two days before it was trashed in favour of RW 2.0. So I guess I was the last person to join before the whole thing went bye-bye. Still haven't made an account on CP, though, although TK occasionally seems to think I have. --Kels (talk) 14:22, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

  • I found Conservapedia from a post on Slashdot joking about the origins of Kangaroos. I've played some in their sandbox, but I'm happy that I found RW, where rational thought prevails. • Recently my non-AP History class (it is very common for people with any ambition at all to enroll in AP classes at my school, whether they are capable or not) had a 'debate' on evolution and my somewhat-intelligent-yet-total-wussy teacher decided that every viewpoint was equally valid, including a lot of the ID stuff some chick was spewing. Then one of my best friends (very intelligent yet woefully ignorant Christian) starts talking about how he believes the universe was created in 8 days (whatever happened to 6?!?! 'Good point,' was his response when I pointed this out) and when I start presenting him with arguments to the contrary he says he'd rather not think about it. He even thinks his viewpoint is more logical. Needless to say, I went straight to somewhere where I might find a group of anybody resembling rational people. The name RationalWiki suggested itself. • On my userpage on another wiki, I was creating a link in the style of Uncyclopedia, where it links to something related to, but not the same as, the link text. I decided to make the word "ridiculous" link to the Wikipedia article about "Conservapedia", and it was on that article that I read about this wiki (in the context of its opposition to Conservapedia). -- Sorceror Nobody 18:33, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
  • Ace told me too, and he scares me. But the site gives me many a laugh and something to do at work.....instead of work. Rad McCool 07:18, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

  • Looked up "abortion" and "homosexuality" on Google while bored with a philosophy paper. The latter lead to Conservapedia, which was hilarious to no end. Eventually I searched for "Conservapedia" and found RationalWiki. ~ Kupochama[1][2] 21:26, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

  • I kept seeing all the references to a "Vandal Site" on CP, did some research and found all you guys! Still trying to make up my mind whether you're actually serious or not, but anything that takes the piss out of CP as much as you do can't be all bad. September 2009

  • Heard about CP via Lewis Black on Daily Show, typed "Is Conservapedia a joke?" into Google afterwards and found this site. Unfortunately discovered it was not a joke :(... Ren (talk) 01:56, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
  • I was reading Conservapedia for the lulz, and some of my Google searches pointed me towards RW. I can't recall the landing article, but it would have been one of the Conservapedia articles.--Concernedresident 16:34, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
  • I searched Google for information about the Lenski affair. I had read about it in Richard Dawkins' new book The Greatest Show on Earth. Previously I had thought that Conservapedia was merely a somewhat conservatively biased site (a bit like Fox News perhaps). But now I can see that it's a full-blown creationist site and an intellectual black hole. Danish 09:04, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
  • I was shopping for a book on amazon.com, when by pure chance i stumbled upon a heated argument re: the Lensky e.coli paper. One author mused that another author 'possibly has ties to Conservapedia' - which was the first time i ever heard about that site. Took it for a parody at first, btw - and had quite a good time sampling all that seemingly delectable, subtle humour over there. Well - one link led to another, and eventually this page was mentioned somewhere.

  • I found a wiki about Harry Potter, that led me to Wiki and Wikia led me to Uncyclopedia, Uncyclopedia led me to Conservapedia. I had never imagined that something so insane could exist, I searched for some extra information and soon I found Rationalwiki... --Earthland (talk) 21:21, 2 February 2010 (UTC)

  • I think I was searching for ID (which I believe) and found this site mocking it. That kind of pissed me off, but then I read the rest of it. I lurked for am while, but finally created an account. At this point I'm trying to figure out whether this site has more bias than CP. Lilfut
  • Turned left at Greenland? Okay, no, really, the truth is I have no idea. I've been lurking here (moar?) since Einstein and Hammurabi went disco-dancing. Only recently have I been sufficiently inspired (read "bored") to make any mischief. I expect to be banned any second now for a 99-44/100ths violation or whatever it's called. --12.17.54.50 00:49, 14 November 2009 (UTC)
  • Stumbled onto christwire.org and found myself deep inside a case of what I now know as Poe's Law (which as hit #1 on google for "Poe's Law" became my landing page here).
  • William Dembski linked to an article on his Search for Search paper at Uncommon Descent and I clicked on it! Dvunkannon 02:33, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
  • Was a "fan" of the "history" "lectures" at Conservapedia a while back, but never delved any deeper into the site. Then the Bible Project brought me back to that great site and discovered the total insanity that it is. Googled the owner of that site and found this place. Lots of fun. Found RW after I googled some of these morons (Jpatt, Karajou, JacobB, Aschlafly) to figure out if CP is for real. I'm still not sure. Chest Rockwell (talk) 16:12, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
  • I learned of RW from Wikisource, not long after learning of Conservapedia the same way: through the Lenski dialog published on WS. I enjoy copyright problem-solving, and I am still scratching my head over the "freeness" of Conservapedia:Copyright, which to me says, in essence, "everything on here is absolutely free--until we decide it isn't." Except for revocability, the license is quite, well, liberal. --LarryGilbert (talk) 18:45, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

  • Well.... I stumbled across Conservapedia, not aware of what it was. I saw a couple (too wildly understate it) errors in the Barack Obama article. I registered, tried to correct the "birth name" on the article, pointing out on the talk page that Soetoro cannot possibly be Obama's birth name, considering that his mother didnt marry Mr. Soetoro until several years after he was born. Lo and behold the honorable TK blocked me for Liberal trolling or some such nonsense. I went to WP to figure out what CP was all about, and found my way here. :D DenaChemistry (talk) 04:12, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
