I DEFY YOU (sticky)

[1]

I already used this in CLoM but it seems more appropriate now. I DEFY YOU IN A DEFIANT WAY, DEFIANTLY. THE KEY ISSUE HERE IS DEFIANCE. Mei (talk) 06:04, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Very nice. Thanks, Mei. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 06:23, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Here is the vital context [2]. Mei (talk) 06:13, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
You do know that that was a joke, I hope. Just like I gained Human's scorn for bashing New Wave, or my bashing of crusty punks (I used to be an anarcho-crusty punk). I make fun just because I make fun of everything. Just like people are more than welcome to make fun of me for liking punk. I did not mean to offend you, Mei. Sorry. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 06:32, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
I wasn't offended, because I guessed you weren't that serious. But that guy in the video kinda rubbed me up the wrong way. I get why people would dislike the fashion based parts of emo, but that has nothing to do with music. Anyway - I found a sort of punky thing on my mp3 player [3]. Yay for that. Mei (talk) 08:25, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

I have been sent... (sticky)

on behalf of Mei to discuss manga with you. (She threatened violence if I didn't). Lemme know what you've read/like and I'll see if I can come up with recommendations. (If you say Naruto, I will have to kill you, however). --PsyGremlin話しなさい 11:20, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

I've not actually read any manga yet myself, but, as far as anime goes, I like Trigun, Naruto (just kidding, take a deep breath Psy), Fooly Cooly, Lupin the Third, Death Note, and a couple others. I'm trying to expand my reading horizons and thought mangas would be "the next horizon" of reading, as it's always piqued my interest, I've just never had the time until now. The Goonie Punk Can't sleep, clowns will eat me! 22:51, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────Hmmm... (FLCL was teh awesome... especially if watched whilst tripping). I think all I can do is point you in the direction of some of my fave manga series and you can see what's good. Good download sites here and here. These guys are my fave scanlation group. Very interesting stuff by them. Anyway, here's the completely biased and subjective list of good manga (in no real order, although the first five or so are firm faves):

  • Azumanga Daioh
  • Gunslinger Girl
  • Bradherly's Coach
  • Battle Royale
  • Battle Angel Alita
  • Elfen Lied
  • Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou
  • Genshiken
  • Fuguruma Memories
  • Hour of the Mice
  • Acony
  • Lament of the Lamb
  • Suicide Circle
  • Nijigahara Holograph
  • Goodnight Pun-pun
  • Bokurano
  • Welcome to the NHK
  • Black Lagoon
  • K-On
  • Mysterious Girlfriend X
  • Owari to Hajimari no Miles
  • MPD Psycho
  • Anne Freaks
  • Goth

Anyway, that's a sampling of what I think is pretty good. Mixed bag, maybe give them a chapter or two to see what you think. Happy hunting. Yell if you need any more info. --PsyGremlin말하십시오 18:10, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Awesome. Thanks much, PsyGremlin! And yes, Fooly Cooly is the best anime ever! The Spikey Punk I'm punking my punk! 22:52, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Hmph. I notice neither Full Metal Alchemist nor Flame of Recca is on this list, both of which are some of the best-paced, well-drawn shonen manga out there. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 11:49, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
So long as the Full Metal Alchemist manga is better than the anime..... For the record, I am currently reading the "Suicide Circle" series Psy recommended, and i8t's pretty good. Punky Your mental puke relief 02:14, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Oh, it is. Far, far better. Star of David.png Radioactive afikomen Please ignore all my awful pre-2014 comments. 22:31, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

I recall I did once talk to someone. Terrible plan. It was a big mistake. I don't do that shit anymore. Icewedge (talk) 02:52, 20 May 2010 (UTC)

RobSmith's Sysopping (sticky)

I disagree, he is still a dick and there was no reason to sysop. Acei9 05:28, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

I aint gonna undo it though - just wondering if it were necessary. Acei9 05:31, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
He is a whackjob, to be sure. But he used to be a sysop. We unsysopped him when he and TK were trolling us with RW and CP over at WP stuff. Now that he's back to being RobSmith the nutter, I think we can conditionally give it back. But this is on;y weak support, so if you disagree, I won't put my balls on the chopping block. The Spikey Punk I'm punking my punk! 05:34, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Yeah but it goes to show he is not above colluding with TK and being a fucker. Acei9 05:36, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Again, if you disagree, then you can unsysop him, and we can have a community-wide discussion about it. I won't put my balls on the line over it. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 05:40, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm I think I might....Acei9 05:41, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I wasn't like getting at you or anything, just voicing my opinion. Acei9 05:46, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
I knew you weren't being mad, I knew where you were coming from. The Goonie Punk Can't sleep, clowns will eat me! 05:47, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
I don't even think it needs to go to the community. Not being a sysop doesn't limit his editing or participation in any way and he is a complete tool so there is no reason to have him as a sysop. That's my opinion. Acei9 05:51, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
The current criterion is "mostly harmless". Let's change it, if we want. RobS is currently mostly harmless. ħumanUser talk:Human 07:29, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
So we sysop him until he becomes a dick again? As above "Not being a sysop doesn't limit his editing or participation in any way" so why bother? Acei9 07:53, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
One day, we will figure out a rule for making sysops and crats. One day. Some day. ħumanUser talk:Human 08:21, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Or you could think, RobSmith does fuck all (aside from providing us with someone to tease and laugh at), has caused problems in the past, has no trouble doing TK's bidding and isn't affected by having no rights. Easy. Acei9 08:27, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
Bullshit. TK's private issues have or had nothing to do with my request for Mediation with tmt & SId. Get real, Ace, or get a brain. Thanks. nobsdon't bother me 02:55, 20 May 2010 (UTC)
Um, Rob, you're better off being seen as TK's tool on that WP thing than claiming you thought it up yourself. In my opinion, anyway. ħumanUser talk:Human 05:16, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
I am of the opinion that Rob is okay as a sysop, so long as he ceases trolling the Wiki. If the editors here think otherwise, than I am open to discussing both sides. I do think that RobSmith being or not being a sysop again should receive, at least, community input. However, as I have stated before, I won't put my balls to the band saw on either side of this. I only ask that, if the insults over this must fly, that you hurl them somewhere else. It seems like me taking the easy way out, but that is because I am conflicted when it comes to RobSmith being here because, generally speaking, he is tolerable. TK isn't here because he chose to not only be intolerable to have around, but decided to e-mail threats to people. Unless RobSmith does the same, I have only a mild opinion about him. What are you trying to prove?

That MC has made us paranoid, and we are turning into CP? I admit that my initial block was not justified, but what do you expect when you create an account called MarcusC in the middle of one of MC's trolling sessions? -- Nx / talk 20:35, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

I'm with Nx. If your heart bleeds too much, you'll die of blood loss. EddyP (talk) 20:39, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
The answer, of course, is more of a tale of caution than of comparison. I remember back in the day we had a guy called Edmund Burke whom everyone had accused of being MC, but who never made any MC-like edits. Timeline that to yesterday when I incidently accused a user of also being MC, and Trent himself said he was tired of people going around making such accusations. Take that to this morning when I am dealing with an existentially cynical outlook on things, and wanted to prove to myself, if not others, that Trent was right in that opinion. I have been one of the biggest "OMG, your MC" people in the past, and I wanted to prove, if on;y to myself, why that's a bad idea. AnarchoGoon Swatting Assflys is how I earn my living 20:49, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
Redemption is a good thing. Well-planned stunt, and very useful, enlightening, etc. ħumanUser talk:Human 03:34, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I missed something here. Were you MarcusC? As for EdmundBurke, he made nothing but MC-like edits, & then admitted, to nobody's surprise, that he was MC. WèàšèìòìďWeaselly.jpgMethinks it is a Weasel 14:27, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I don't remember him ever admitting to being MC, but perhaps (as it's a good possibility) my memory escapes me.... Either way, I learned a lot about why it is bad form here on out to throw about accusations of sockpuppetry unless I have stronger proof. And, most certainly, it reinforces my inherent objections to using blocks over the vandal brake (with TK being my only exception to the rule so far). Lord of the Goons The official spikey-haired skeptical punk 18:33, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
When you vandal bin an IP it is binned forever. When you block an editor with the autoblock option, the IP is blocked for a day (that's why they checkuser and then rangeblock at CP). When you bin an editor with the autoblock option, the IP, and any subsequent IP they ever try to edit from is binned forever. -- Nx / talk 18:38, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
True, but if you bin a user, the beauty of it is that they have the chance to redeem themselves. Granted, it may take a few hours to so, but they still have the ability to make good edits. AnarchoGoon Swatting Assflys is how I earn my living 18:41, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I find that scenario highly unlikely. -- Nx / talk 18:42, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

(Unindent) Unlikely, but possible. It has happened before. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 18:43, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

It's more likely someone else will try to use the same IP to edit, and will be hit by a binning that happened months ago. That's why I block for a day (or 9 hours if I'm too lazy to type) instead of binning. -- Nx / talk 18:49, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps I'm missing something here, but would it be sensible to make the vandal bin not forever by default? - David Gerard (talk) 18:46, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
The vandal bin has no mechanism for that, and I'd rather use blocks than implement that. -- Nx / talk 18:49, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I do have to hand it to you, though, I like the fact that blocking now has, by default, the option to allow users to edit their own talkpage. Punky Your mental puke relief 18:52, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Wikipe-tan is...

a cheerleader/bitch and deserves to die? — Unsigned, by: &hearts / talk / contribs

No, she deserves it because she's poorly drawn. Ow, my eyes. --Kels (talk) 16:56, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
k fair enough, who ever drew that version of her sucks at animae. this is the real wikipedia-tan the point was he said all cheerleaders deserve to die and since wikipedia-tan is basically a cheerleader for wikipedia that means she is a bitch and deserves to die too. same thing with alot of other people who have nothing to do with the cheerleading vandalism.
Wrong again. Since you are new, I assume, you were not around. Some so-called cheerleader trolls were attacking this Wiki at the time and making personal attacks against my sister and myself for hours. If you knew anything about what went on with my sister some months ago, and what continues to plague my family to this day, you'd understand that that strikes a severe personal chord with me. Thus, I went to PunchingBag to vent my frustration, since the point of that account is to take out all your Wiki stress and anger. Lord Goonie Hooray! I'm helping! 18:12, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

In other news.....

I was nearly thrown out of a grocery store last night for apparently "abusing the staff". Hell, I didn't even talk to the staff and merely muttered under breath when I couldn't find my drivers license. Acei9 04:11, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Really? Wow, what a bunch of shit! Granted, they might have thought you were a terrorist for muttering under your breath, but still, talk about extreme over-reactions. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 04:14, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
They are pretty tyrannical in NZ over ID for liquor sales, not every store, but in some places. Never mind I am 4 months away from 30, have a wild facial hair, was wearing an expensive suit and had a cigarette jutting from my lip the store clerk still required ID. When I couldn't find my license (it was stuck under backup tapes from work) I muttered a string of obscenities quietly under my breath. When I looked up the guy was down the far end talking to his manager. The manager came up and accused me of abusing the staff. When I expressed outrage and called them liars I was accused of abusing him as well. Hell, they even threatened me with a trespass notice. I would say I would never go back but I am out of wine again. Acei9 04:20, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Wow, what a total crock of shit! Did it go something like this: "OMG, the guy swore under his breath!!!! The sky is falling!!! Stop abusing me! For crying out loud, stop abusing me!"? AnarchoGoon Swatting Assflys is how I earn my living 04:54, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
They still let you smoke indoors in NZ??? Wow. I'm moving ASAP. ħumanUser talk:Human 06:34, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
You know, that's a damn good point. Those shitheads banned public smoking here long ago. I envy those in other countries not impacted by the militant anti-smokers. Gooniepunk2010 Oi! Oi! Oi! 06:37, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Errr I wasnt smoking it, it were unlit. Acei9 06:40, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
