| There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff – we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity. If everyone who saw this today donated $5, we would meet our goal for 2019. |
Fighting pseudoscience isn't free. We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $20 or whatever you can today with |
Separate project "RationalWiki" (Russian)
So, I've decided to start my own project to avoid some numerous well-known problems. I want to declare that this project will be very similar to RW, but in Russian (see also RationalWiki#Russian_section). And I want to ask you (as a bureaucrat) some questions:
- Can I use this emblem for the project?
- As I understand, I can translate pages of RW and publish on the site, couldn't I?
Of course, there will be not only a similarities between RW and the site. It is better to compare "Russian RW" with EvoWiki with maximal scientific responses to considering pseudoscientific claims. Jokes in "Russian RW", maybe, appear later.
Also, I want to say, that:
- I want to remove all the Russian content of RW to the new site.
- I will remove TalkOrigins translation from RW to the new site and delete (because of some unresolved problems with Mark Isaac's copyright) it on RW (nearly 85 pages).
- So, there will be nearly 50 Russian pages at RW. And after my copying this pages to the new site you can do with them anything.
And, at last, I want to say Thank You for your (and not your personally) kindly welcome.
I would prefer ru.rationalwiki.org myself, but if you want to go it alone - best of luck to you.
Thanks. I think that I will be not alone. There are few Russian users who, as it seems, will join me.
That is great. You are allowed to use as much of our stuff as you like so long as you "share-alike" in accordance with our CC-3.0-SA licence thing. I hope you guys do well and grow as a community.
