RationalWiki's 2019 Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff – we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

If everyone who saw this today donated $5, we would meet our goal for 2019.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

There are some tools to help with this, of course. I know I pulled that one with a discussion on slavery in the Bible, and the guy claiming "it doesn't really endorse slavery because it's a different kind of slavery" shut the fuck up pretty sharpish after that.

But speaking of the hard green and politics stuff, there is the episode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit! on Greenpeace (IIRC, of course) where someone actually asked a Greenpeac protester about GM foods. Even if you haven't seen it, you'll be unsurprised to hear it was derailed to "capitalist corporations are evil" in about 3 seconds flat.

P&T themselves are a great example of this as well on environmental episodes.

True, but we waive that point. We do not press it. We look over it.
