RationalWiki's 2019 Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff – we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

If everyone who saw this today donated $5, we would meet our goal for 2019.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

You should read Lynn Povitch's book. Five years after the lawsuit, she became the first female senior editor in the mag's history. Today editorial offices in publishing and TV are teeming with women.

I shouldn't have written, however, that women were "absolutely" confined to secretarial positions. I forgot Grace Wyndham Goldie. Momentarily. May God strike me dead.

I mean, i have no idea what you are talking about. I just read, today's article from Salon about the lack of women journalists. That article references 3 otehr articles talking about the main players in jourlalism, and each and every one fails to list a single woman out of 20 or so men listed.

Yes, there are a few women who have succeeded. one women is not enough to make up for the extreme lack of writers in film, or tv, directors of the same, jorunalists, much less world renouned journalists. and while there are as far as i know, 10 or so major editors who are women, that is NOTHING in the pot compared to the number of major editorial positions held by men.
