RationalWiki's 2019 Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff – we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

If everyone who saw this today donated $5, we would meet our goal for 2019.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Conservapedia:CPAdmin1

Wigocp.svg This Conservapedia-related article is of largely historical interest, and not necessarily the focus of RationalWiki today.
Conservapedia was a major focal point in the early history of RationalWiki, but long ago ceased coming up with new ways to appall and amuse.
Our energies are now spent debunking other, fresher examples of religious fundamentalism and creationist claims.
For RationalWiki's less ancient content, try the cover story articles or a random article.

CPAdmin1 (or TimS) a former Sysop, was more sensible than many Conservapedians. He wanted to end arbitrary blocking on CP. He didn't get far with that because the big guns wanted things to stay as they are.

As of New Year 2009, he has resigned. After removing his Administrator status, Andrew Schlafly insisted that his user name must be changed to reflect this. Consequently, CPAdmin1 was renamed to TimS.

Tim was a casual visitor to RationalWiki, but he is unlikely to stay now he has departed from Conservapedia.

CPAdmin1's demise[edit]

CPAdmin1 (renamed TimS) was one of the original homeschoolers who joined the CP Project and was one of the first Admins (hence the name "CPAdmin1"). He made many edits over an extended period of time and by all accounts was totally supportive to the project.

His demise came about when he ran afoul of TK by objecting to TK's harassment of other editors. Although TimS was a sysop, when he openly questioned TK, TK blocked him: 31 December 2008 TK blocked TimS with an expiry time of 5 years (account creation disabled) (insistence on last wordism)

TimS then promptly unblocked himself: 31 December 2008 TimS unblocked TimS (I broke no rule, and did not insist on last wordism. did you even read the post?)

After TK did some backdoor character assasination to convince ASchlafly to remove Tim's sysop rights, in a typical heavy-handed power-play to silence him, TK engaged in a series of blocks against TimS:

31 December 2008 blocked TimS with an expiry time of 1 week (account creation disabled) (insistence on last wordism)

10 January 2009 TK blocked TimS with an expiry time of 2 minutes (account creation disabled) (Contradicting Administrator, interfering with Admin Instruction)

11 January 2009 TK blocked TimS with an expiry time of 3 days (account creation disabled, autoblock disabled, e-mail blocked) (Entering into disputes not involving editor (MYOB): last wordism, again!)

9 February 2009 TK blocked TimS with an expiry time of 5 years (account creation disabled) (Insistence on last-wordism: Previsous communtation revoked, it now appears obvious you plan to disrupt and argue for attention, as all liberals do.

Whereupon TimS saw that CP wasn't worth his time and defected to PJR's wiki (aSK). TK then labelled TimS a "vandal" and a "liberal" and deleted Tim's user page. 22 February 2009 TK deleted "User:TimS" (User/talkpage of infinitely blocked user/vandal.

When DuncanB, (also a Sysop) restored Tim's page, 1 March 2009 DuncanB restored "User:TimS" (He was a helpful user for almost two years. He does not deserve to go down the Memory Hole.)

TK threatened DuncanB with de-sysopping as well. 2 March 2009 TK deleted "User:TimS" (User/talkpage of infinitely blocked user/vandal: Duncan, I will ask that you be removed as an sysop if you once again restore pages deleted by an Administrator)
