Problems[edit]
This is an image with no licence information, yet which regularly appears on the main page. That needs sorting. Talking of the main page, it looks too silly to illustrate a cover story - it makes us look like UC. There are better pictures we can use. Totnesmartin (talk) 21:56, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- It appears there because of its inclusion in the evolution template, thus placing it at the top of every evolution-related page. Perhaps we can change the picture? License info should still be acquired, however, and I'll look into it. Aboriginal Noise Oh, what a lovely tea party! 22:03, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- It seems to be from Bustedtees.com. If it is their design, we'd probably struggle to describe this as fair use. --Ask me about your mother 22:14, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Since when do we care so much? -- Nx / talk 22:16, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- It must be easy to be a peon and let the administrators worry about all the big boy stuff... I say we take it down. — Sincerely, Neveruse513 / Talk / Block 22:18, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Okay... Well, I agree with the taking down bit, but Abo seems to be looking in to it. --Ask me about your mother 22:28, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Found nothing just yet, though I am skeptical that BustedTees is the holder of the copyright. There is this picture that I thought was pretty neat, though. Aboriginal Noise Oh, what a lovely tea party! 22:32, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- How about a nice Darwin fish? Aboriginal Noise Oh, what a lovely tea party! 22:37, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- That's the first thing I thought of, but the next thing I thought of was how passé that is. — Sincerely, Neveruse513 / Talk / Block 22:39, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- I've sent an email to Busted Tees asking them if they are the originators of that image, and if they hold the copyright on it? I'll let you know once I hear back from them. Yeah, the Darwin fish is recognisable, but been the joke value is probably a bit worn.--Ask me about your mother 22:43, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
- Quick update. I received a reply from Busted Tees, and it is indeed their design. I think we should ditch it. --Ask me about your mother 14:13, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- Concernedresident again on the mobile. It's a pretty cool shirt. I was wondering if we could maybe run a competition for a replacement? I can offer one of those shirts, and another chosen by the winner. We could probably use a distraction from the current events. What do you think? 62.40.36.14 (talk) 18:21, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- WP uses this image on the evo template. Might be worth considering something similar. As much as I love the viva image, it will have to go. gnostic 18:26, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's "too Wikipedia". I like CR's suggestion to see what we can come up with. — Sincerely, Neveruse513 / Talk / Block 18:30, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
- I've added a CC image to the evolution template. We may as well remove the copyright violations ASAP. gnostic 18:36, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Competition idea[edit]
Apologies for the absence. I'm a bit skint until the end of January, but in February I was thinking of picking-up the t-shirt for someone who designs the best replacement. We'd need some way of judging it. Do we want to keep the images anonymous until a winner is chosen, i.e. upload them through sock accounts? We could post the images, and then have some voting via a talk page. Either that or we ditch the socks and just fight it out, as usual, until a winner emerges. --Ask me about your mother 21:04, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
