I'm thinking Fun space, rather than essay? Along with Andyland & Stalinist republik? --PsyGremlinПоговорите! 22:08, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Yeah. Mea Culpa. Make it so Mr. Psy. 22:28, 18 September 2010 (UTC) SusanG Toast

Copyedit[edit]

I've removed a few instances of "(we) would", to make it scan better to me. Feel free to re-add them if I was mistaken. CS Miller (talk) 12:59, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

No worries. Been tinkering with it here and there, trying to give it a more epic, Tolkienesque feel, fixing a few typos and mistakes and fleshing out a few bits that my (rather warped o.O;) imagination strikes a fancy to. --Tygrehart

Gríma[edit]

BTW, I like the allusion to Gríma and others of his ilk. CS Miller (talk) 13:07, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

Thank you. It is kind of scary when you think about it though, how TK really does appear to be in charge of CP, in practice if not in policy. The fact that everyone can see that except Andy made the analogy almost too easy. --Tygrehart
Yes, but Théoden and Rohan recovered when Gríma was expelled (at least in the film), but I doubt if Convervapedia would likewise. CS Miller (talk) 22:00, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Coat of Arms[edit]

CoA.png

Because every kingdom, not matter how run down, needs one.

  • Note the simplicity of design. Concise is always best!
  • A field per bend, bend azure for the water in which hands are cleansed of truth and bend or for the courage with which we defend our convictions.
  • The Bull, passant, symbolising the tenets of our faith. For it is in Bull that we prosper.
  • The battle axe, with which we hammer down the dissenting voices of the heathens camping at our gate.
  • The White Hand of the Law, indicating the purity of our Race and stopping untruths in their tracks.
  • Ye, verily, do not forsake the holy motto: Faith before Understanding. --PsyGremlinParlez! 14:03, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
That is almost too awesome for words Psy. Swear to the gods if I ever adapt this little bit of musing to a D&D campaign (a prospect that is growing more and more likely as it just seems to work so well) I am going to use that as the coat of arms. With your permission of course. --Tygrehart
No permission needed :) Threw it together for this little project, so please feel free to use or nor use. --PsyGremlinSiarad! 06:28, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Then you might want to clear up the copyright at the image page? ħumanUser talk:Human 07:44, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Marked it {{unknown}} for now. But as they allow you to print or e-mail the finished design, I'm guessing it's PD? --PsyGremlinSiarad! 09:59, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Free PD image uploaded. --PsyGremlinSiarad! 10:30, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
New version, with commentary. Yes, I fail at heraldry. --PsyGremlinZungumza! 10:30, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Really nice work! The motto should read "fides ante scientiam", though. Or maybe "fides ante intellectum", which is apparently an existing expression. Röstigraben (talk) 11:41, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
I could argue and say that as it's Conservapedia, you'd expect them to get it wrong. But that's the price I pay for trusting online translators :). Will upload a new version. What does "fides ante intellectum" mean? Faith before knowledge, on intellect? --PsyGremlin話しなさい 11:58, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
They translate it as "faith before understanding", which makes it a little ambiguous whether they understand "ante" in its temporal sense. In any case, it sums up CP nicely. Röstigraben (talk) 13:22, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! Updated accordingly. --PsyGremlinSnakk! 13:28, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
