"journalist"[edit]
Didn't Terry H refer to himself as a "journalist" based on his Examiner column somewhere in one of the cp forum things? Scream!! (talk) 11:22, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
- Probably - Examiner bloggers have a habit of this (e.g. Greg Kohs with his Wikipedia trolling) - David Gerard (talk) 12:48, 30 November 2012 (UTC)
Non-shit Examiners?[edit]
Are there any Examiners that are actually worth following? - David Gerard (talk) 14:49, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Actual editorial control[edit]
Removed:
- (That said, there are occasions when Examiner.com uses quality control, e.g. disgraced games journalist and Gamergater Alex Hinkley, a.k.a. Xander756.) REF: http://np.reddit.com/r/GamerGhazi/comments/2nw8gw/someone_tries_to_add_irrelevant_poorlysourced/cmhhzl6
It does need a better source. But this is literally the only case I've heard of where Examiner exerted editorial control. And reading the piece, I can't see anything amazingly toxic about it legally (it's very stupid, of course). I'm seeking out the story, if we can get details that'd be a great thing - David Gerard (talk) 22:39, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
Domain Name[edit]
I was living there when the weird Examiner/Chronicle deal happened; it was such a bizarre mess that it's very likely the domain renewal just fell through the cracks. Either that or a poorly thought out rebranding, given that the guy who took over the examiner at the time was a rank amateur. — Unsigned, by: IcanaddANDsubtract! / talk / contribs
