Talk:Richard Coughlan
Title[edit]
Shouldn't this be "Richard Coughlan" with a redirect from "Richard "The Dick" Coughlan" - or am I missing a joke here?--BobSpring is sprung! 20:10, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- Probably. He goes by multiple names. pathetic 20:25, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- Really? A subtlety of these youtube celebrities of which an old man like me would be unaware. So a redirect then?--BobSpring is sprung! 20:38, 11 December 2011 (UTC)
- I don't think a redirect is necessary. He calls himself Richard "The Dick" Coughlan in the beginning of all his videos, that is how he presents himself and that is how everyone knows him. I think it should stay. And I guess the joke of it is that he is a stand-up comedian, and often vulgar in his jokes. He can be vulgar on YouTube, and that is persona - and his viewers love him for that because he is humorous and funny. Feredir28 (talk) 17:42, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

Ok, what? NPOV?[edit]
I have been a lurker here for a very long time. In fact, I refer people here when I want to express what is usually my opinion succinctly put to save myself the keystrokes. But then there's this article. It reads more like an encyclopedia dramatica page, circle jerk promoting whoever this dude is. I came here by clicking through a bunch of random crap (I wasn't even paying attention to be honest, so I can't really give a solid feed of how I got here) and this article is so out of step with the rest of the site it's apalling.
Idk if you guys use NPOV boilerplate warnings here, but I wouldn't be surprised if this article was written by Richard Coughlan himself or one of his circle jerk chums from YouTube perhaps? I'm not going to flag it up as NPOV because I like being a lurker and staying uninvolved, and given I don't know who this dude is or anyone he's involved with directly or indirectly I can't really speak from authority. But fuck, can someone please make this sound less like an advert for his YT channel?— Unsigned, by: 60.225.64.166 / talk / contribs
- RW is not NPOV, but SPOV. That said, I have no idea who this guy is (don't follow the YouTubes or attendant drama all that much) and so no desire to defend him, especially considering the track record YouTube celebs have of being utter douchebags. Nebuchadnezzar (talk) 03:53, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
- Pretty much agree with Nebby above me. To be honest, if you don't like this article's tone, I think you'd be a better candidate to change it yourself than most of the people here. Reckless Noise Symphony (talk) 06:00, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
Twitter matters?[edit]
So, some folks on Twitter have recently leveled some accusations toward Coughlan over creepy behavior and off-color jokes. Should we cover it? ℕoir LeSable (talk) 23:28, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
- @Noir LeSable Can you elaborate on these accusations? CowHouse (talk) 04:38, 19 December 2017 (UTC)
