Talk:Vatican City
I'm afraid the "Little known fact" about a Mithraeum beneath the Vatican is little known because it's wrong, unless you have some sources I don't. I seem to recall there is a Mithraeum beneath the church of St. Clemente, though. I've also never heard of Mithras being born to a virgin, but rather that he sprung out of a rock or some sort of cosmic egg or something.
Basic fact-checking: Now highly recommended by four out of five dentists. --AKjeldsenCum dissensie 09:39, 15 September 2008 (EDT)
- I'd better go and make it even less known then... 09:49, 15 September 2008 (EDT) Totnesmartin
- This information originates from a chain letter (sadly, snopes doesn't have a debunking I checked.) Amusingly, it suckered Christopher Hitchens, it's in God is not great too :D --JeevesMkII 10:08, 15 September 2008 (EDT)
- And The Jesus Mysteries, the book I found it in. Oh well. Totnesmartin 10:14, 15 September 2008 (EDT)

A strange state[edit]
Reading this article it is unclear whether we should regard the Vatican as a state or not. Section one calls it a country, section two throws doubt on its status and section three seems fairly sure it is a state. Would it be better to present the arguments for and against in one paragraph rather then have the spread through the article? This will imply a very significant re-write though.--BobSpring is sprung! 15:06, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Why six/12 Popes rather than 4 (white, black, red and retired)? 171.33.222.26 (talk) 17:52, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
Financial scandal[edit]
Vatican financial scandal: Will Pope Francis be an agent of reform?
Material here is worth adding to the article. Proxima Centauri (talk) 19:30, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
- You should probably stop ignoring the ongoing discussion on your talk page about your work on Catholicism-related articles before that happens. There are tensions which need to be resolved. Inspiration Move me brightly. 19:40, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
