Usage

This is a template for in-text linking to non-English Wikipedia in articles, as using Template:wpl can only be used for the English Wikipedia.

Like the other Wikipedia templates, it's best to use this template sparingly.

If the name of the Wikipedia article is the same as the desired text of the link, use just

{{wplang|language code|name of Wikipedia article}}

See list of Wikipedia language codesWikipedia

For example,

{{wplang|de|Ziege}}

results in ZiegeWikipedia

If you want to put some other text in the link or format it in some special way, you need to pass it as the third parameter:

{{wplang|language code|name of Wikipedia article|''alternative'' text}}

For example,

{{wplang|de|Ziege|German Wikipedia page for goat}}

results in German Wikipedia page for goatWikipedia

To avoid leaving a large space before a punctuation sign, pass it as the fourth parameter (the third can be blank) to place it before the W-image.

The image used in this template is File:Wikipedia's W.svg.

Earlier versions of this template didn't convert spaces to underscores, etc., automatically when using parameter two – now it does, just like the target text and showed text when writing normal links or using {{wpl}}.
