| There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff – we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity. If everyone who saw this today donated $5, we would meet our goal for 2019. |

Re: Minorities in atheism/skepticism
RW doesn't really put strict boundaries on what can be included (hence the "PoliticsWiki" side of the site), but it seems like many other organizations want to stay "apolitical". Which is always a bit confusing since one of the staples of pseudoscience, creationism, is at base a political movement. In any case, I find the African-American atheist/humanist movement to be interesting from a historical perspective because the civil rights movement was so intimately intertwined with Christianity. Norm Allen has edited an interesting anthology on this.
