RationalWiki's 2019 Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff – we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

If everyone who saw this today donated $5, we would meet our goal for 2019.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

Howdy!

I am morally superior to all of you, because I have the courage to say that I believe that slavery is WRONG. I know this might not be the most popular opinion, but I am taking a stand for what I believe in. Block me if you must, but I will not waver. I will adhere to my principles!

RationalWiki, Conservapedia and Me[edit]

I used to be a huge skeptic of Wikipedia. I honestly hated Wikipedia and would often proselytize to those around me about why Wikipedia ought to be exterminated. However, the fact that I began this paragraph with the phrase "I used" indicates that my feelings changed. Somehow or another (I do not precisely remember how) I discovered Conservapedia. After observing it for a day or two, I was so disgusted. More importantly, however, I realized how good a reference source Wikipedia really is. Now, I use Wikipedia constantly! I do not remember how I discovered RationalWiki either (though I suspect I Googled Conservapedia and discovered this website) but I have been an ardent follower of RW, WIGO in particular, for quite a while. I have also followed Conservapedia for quite a few half-years. I never, however, bothered to make an account. Thus, while I have read many wikis, I have virtually no experience in the actual mechanical process of editing and formatting them. I will try to useful nonetheless.
