RationalWiki's 2019 Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff – we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

If everyone who saw this today donated $5, we would meet our goal for 2019.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.
We are 100% user-supported! Help and donate $5, $20 or whatever you can today with PayPal Logo.png!

The Parti Communiste Français (French Communist Party) is a political party in France.

Notorious members[edit]

Ambroise Croizat[edit]

Ambroise Croizat is a famous French communist, who had a major role in the creation of social security. [1]

Pierre Laurent[edit]

Pierre Laurent is the current leader of the PCF. He has made an alliance of the PCF and other left parties to create the Left Front, which got Mélenchon to be the fourth candidate of the 2012 elections.

Pierre Laurent believes that centralized version of collective property outdated, but that social appropriation of wealth (he gives for example social security) is still a good thing, and his version of communism isn't contradictory with private enterprises. [2] He wrote a book called 99%, and uses the classic critic of the 1% owning too much. He is also a supporter of gay rights and women's rights.

Very particular moonbattery[edit]

Bernard Friot[edit]

A new form of communism

Bernard Friot is a sociologist and economist, and a member of the PCF. He has been famous recently for his idea of "Life Salary", which is about giving a life salary of 1500€ to each person to start, and then give better salaries to people who can prove their contribution to the GDP after a qualification test.

The GDP would be collected through cotisations and distributed as such :

Life Salary[edit]

Life salary is funded through social cotisations. With life salary, every person aged more than 18 years is payed 1500€ every month. The person can then get a better salary through work, there are four levels of qualifications, and the maximum salary would be 6000€ by month.[3][4]

Investment funds[edit]

Bernard Friot wants to create investment funds. A part of investments would be left to companies and decided by workers, and another part would be funded by cotisations, and the funds would be used to fund subsidies.[5]

What's left of the GDP[edit]

In Friot's plan of life salary, a part of social cotisations would be used to extend free services to culture, transports, shelter and other things. [6]

Laïcité[edit]

Friot has a very weird version of the french laïcité : he considers life salary as a political right, and theorizes a capitalist religion. He also compares the markets to pagan gods, to which we make sacrifice to appease them.[7] [8]
