Basically, religion is the opiate of the masses, but I think that adults have a right to get high on their god of choice, as long as they take full responsibilities for their actions and don't force others to drink their flavor of Kool-Aid or to behave as if they're high, too, in order not to spoil their fun. Believe responsibly, and don't create laws while you're on a religious high.
Or in more serious boring terms, your private religious, lifestyle and ideological choices are private. Believe what you want, join the groups you like, choose what to do with your life, but never forget that your private choices don't apply to the entire humanity, and that other people have the right to do many things that go against your most important ideals.
