Equatorial Guinea—not to be confused with Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, or Ecuador—is a small country in western Africa bordering Cameroon and Gabon. It is a large producer of both coffee and authoritarianism.
Government[edit]
Equatorial Guinea was a subject of Spain until 1963, when it was released into the control of Francisco Macías Nguema until 1979, when his nephew Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo staged a coup d'état and murdered Francisco.
