RE: Paris Hilton[edit]

So Jinx, regarding this conversation:

I'm sure Hollywood doesn't need anymore attention, but if you watched the news this morning, I'm sure you caught of glimpse of her "campaign ad". o.O Natebecause people listen to what I say? 11:58, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

lets cut through the jabbering and look at the real issue... Are you more upset because Paris Hilton is richer than you will ever be? Has more friends and adoring fans than you will ever have? Is much better looking than you could ever hope to attain in a girl or are you just pissed because she put out a better campaign ad than your candidate? and while we're on the subject, I'm in contact with a really nice practice for a possible internship in my Psychology studies, we can get you a nice bed with rest and maybe even some peanut butter if you wanna bring your dog. People in general have a very strong dislike because she's seen as a non-celebrity celebrity. People think she's never done anything to deserve her fame (despite the fact that she has a clothing line, a perfume line, a pop Cd, numerous acting roles of varying quality and other real claims) and also, I think there's a lot of jealousy for some people. She was born into a wealthy family, she's attractive and she doesn't act humble or play the modesty card.... All those things add up. and to Dlearner's comment, the best part was when the Hilton's got pissed and demanded a refund from Mccain. First rule of politics: Don't piss off your donors. SirChuckBI brake for Schukky 12:02, 19 August 2008 (EDT)

According to things I've read, she's actually a very intelligent person. But I must disagree with Chaos/Jellyfish. in this country, people become celebrities for many reasons. Everything from actors to singers to political activists can become celebrities. Not to mention, in America, being a young attractive female is reason to be considered a celebrity (Tila Tequila anyone?) and as I've said from the beginning. Paris Hilton wouldn't be a celebrity if it weren't for people clamoring(sp?) to get stories on her. Anyone else remember the debacle at her reimprisonment (which I still hold to be illegal but that's another argument) it wasn't just freelance photographers and poparazzi, there were reporters and cameras from every major network in the country. Paris Hilton's merits can be argued all day, and both sides have good points, but the celebrity was caused by people following the stories and tuning in to see the saga as it unfolded. As Dennis Miller said (before he lost his mind) that after you create the monster, you can't grab a torch and join the mob to kill it. SirChuckBI brake for Schukky 12:22, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
I have to side with Jellyfish in that I don't find Paris Hilton very attractive or interesting. As for what she's famous for, I reckon she just plays up to a stereotype (or archetype) that people love or hate in equal measure. weaseLOIdWeaselly.jpgbite me 13:11, 19 August 2008 (EDT)

Frivolous user names, names of prominent living persons, and user names consisting of, for example, all capital letters or all the same character, may also result in that user name being blocked. User names based on your real name or initials are preferred. Also, do not create multiple accounts."
The only part the name in question arguably violates from the above is the frivolous part (then again, arguably so does yours), regardless, you're still blocking somebody for a rule you aren't following and you don't seem very interested in doing the same thing to, say, Karajou or Conservative. Wait, do you know even know what the words "preferred" and "optional" means? If anything, that gives strenght to my argument. And just like the weasel said you're still not following the instructions you gave or even gave the blocked user the chance to state his real name (specially considering editing his userpage right away would constitute a 90/10 violation) like you did which supposedly makes everything OK. By the way, various sysops aren't even complying with this made-up-on-the-spot distinction that apparently only you care about, so, when are you going to block them?
But hey, it's never too late to imitate a moron; Holy fucking shit, you're even a bigger dimwit that I could've ever imagined, apparently I the "irrational one" must be the one to explain you, the almighty conservatives, about the rules of their own site. <-Unindent> I notice that Jizzshoes gets to explain his CP user name on his talk page (funny I didn't see that escape clause in the commandments) whereas GenghisK got blocked without even having made an edit. Of course "GenghisK" as a user name fully complies with the Conservedpia standards - first name and last initial. So who is a numbnuts blocker (I won't call him an editor as he has made virtually no substantial edits to the CP project) to say whether a user's name is real or not? Here in Kazakhstan (what no checkuser, Jizz?), Genghis is not an uncommon name and K is one of the commonest initials for a surname. (BTW it doesn't stand for Khan or Khant). Of course Jizz's real stupidity is that he blocks someone whose identity he does know and tells them to create an account with a name he doesn't know. Surely it is easier to keep tabs on someone when they are in the open rather then forcing them to go underground. Did you really think I created an account with the name everyone knows me by in order to vandalize? Doh, how clever you are! It was also interesting to note that Jizz ignored all the names which were also created around the same time and didn't fit the first name last initial and picked the only one which did - GenghisK. Why? Because he's just a small-minded, vindictive little punk, who got so upset that he was called a hypocrite over his name blocks that he posted replies on WIGO, my talk page and my amazingly inactive blog. Pathetic. Jollyfish.gifGenghisIs the Pope a Catholic? 13:08, 21 August 2008 (EDT)

From teh WP:

A Jinx hi Jinx! A jinx, in popular superstition and folklore, is:

  • A sort of curse placed on a person that makes them prey to large numbers of minor misfortunes and other forms of bad luck;
  • A person afflicted with a similar curse, who, while not directly subject to a series of misfortunes, seems to attract them to anyone in his general area.
  • An object or animal that brings bad luck.
  • A common slang term used when two people say the same thing at the same time (said as a game amongst the young and young hearted which suggests some kind of spooky supernatural interference).

The first three are obvious, the last one applies here because we all say pretty much the same thing. --δλερνερ διαλέγομαι | συνεισφέρω 21:38, 24 August 2008 (EDT)

Jinx hi Jinx! if you come back over here I will smear myself in peanut butter. \approx\pi 01:37, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

lol! "My sleeper account." Yeah, right. Not a single one of you is clever enough to retain a mole/"sleeper account" for more than a few hours. 67.135.49.198 16:31, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

Yeah I mean I am so stupid that I can't manage to not post. \approx\pi 20:18, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

I confess: I'm not obsessed, but I'm addicted. Could you please give us mere mortals more Laws and Variations? Liar at RP(Ed at CP) 20:25, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

Explain them? You probably claimed them after the fact. It's not like you can prove it. 67.135.49.198 22:25, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
Dozens. Sure you do. Name some. With "dozens," you can spare a few. 67.135.49.198 22:25, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
We've had this conversation before, Jinxy. My socks are (much) more important than you. It's basic math ^_^ <font=""; face="Comic Sans MS">Jellyfish!</font>Horseshoe-shaped gonads! 22:29, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
D'you know, I have to keep reminding myself that Jinx (Hi Jinx!) isn't a twelve year old boy - this guy's in his thirties with a wife & 2. 5 kids! How he managed to remember to breathe for so many years is quite baffling, let alone find some poor female to share his fascist existence with and have unprotected sexual congress with is quite mindblowing. Hi Susan, thanks bureaucrating me. I have the same problem with Ken. They both behave as though they are at most 15 (17 if they are ICP fans). I have three theories 1) the are either both extremely deep cover socks by two patient but still juvenile 14 year olds (the patient bit is the problem so unlikely), 2) they are 15 year old conservative children who imagine what they would be like when they are not living with mum and dad and how cool it would be and create there on screen persona accordingly, 3) they are both the most grown-ass kids on earths and even though they are in their 30s they still can't get past all that happened in high school because they stayed in their little towns and got jobs straight out of school which they still have. \approx\pi 22:40, 27 August 2008 (EDT)
