Fluffer[edit]
I gave you some suggestions on your fluffer article.--Bobbing up 07:22, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
- Thanks awfully. I think I'll make this my play article for the time being & see what I can do with it. Crookedmouth 07:39, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
- Ok, but one editor has suggested moving it to "fun" - that is our namespace for, well fun, less serious things. If you are going to be doing experiments and things it might be best to put it there. See Help:Namespace for a bit of info on namespaces. It is possible that, as a new user, you do not yet have pagemove rights. If you do not have these rights and you would like the page moved then please ask me or any other established user who seems to be active. Cheers. :-) --Bobbing up 07:48, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
ATUIN[edit]
Do you have the website you got the pic from? --*Gen. S.T. Shrink* Get to the bunker 14:37, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
It's on http://www.squidoo.com/herbies-place but there are bigger versions elsewhere... Crookedmouth 14:43, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
Well yeah, but it's always safer to get the actual site. So we don't get sued --*Gen. S.T. Shrink* Get to the bunker 14:45, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
- The source can claim "Fair Use" as it's on an article about TP - we can't. ContribsTalk 14:51, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
- We've got good security and they can't straight up sue us
Unless it's JK Rowling, just tell us to get rid of it. --*Gen. S.T. Shrink* Get to the bunker 14:53, 3 July 2008 (EDT)- The point is: we can't lambast CP for their (many) copy vios if we're doing the same thing! ContribsTalk 14:56, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
- So I've got to delete it? Crookedmouth 16:09, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
- No, not at all. Only if they said so. By they, I mean the copyright owners of the image, which isn't likely as we've attributed the image to a source, which uses "fair use". Just remember, keep the exact url of the image and put it in the summary like "Found it at www.monkeyface.com/kghiguy" or something like that. You did fine, just remember the url. I put it on the image summary already. --*Gen. S.T. Shrink* Get to the bunker

Actually you ought to take a course in Copyright. Fair use applies to the original use & doesn't permit further use. Copyright is for the protection of the creations of artists, authors, musicians etc. As a person who has published (and therefore copyrighted) stuff, I feel quite strongly about this. Have you read what it says under the edit box (DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED WORK WITHOUT PERMISSION!)? Using someone's original work for our own amusement without consent is wrong. The picture in question is small enough and almost unrecognisable as the original (the largest I can find is 800 x 600) so probably not worth bothering about. But don't get carried away with copying please. ContribsTalk 16:37, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
Okay, listen to her, not me. --*Gen. S.T. Shrink* Get to the bunker 16:42, 3 July 2008 (EDT)
