Red links and demotion[edit]
I'd demote you, mostly to beat Ace to the punch, but your user page has many red links that will never be articles on RW. We'd appreciate it if you clean them up a bit :) ħuman

- Reply - I was under the impression that this was supposed to be a wiki based on rationality and logic . . . which does not include prophecy. So, I'd enjoy hearing how you've managed to see into the future. :) Dweren 20:14, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Addendum - And I quote the Guidelines re: User pages, as per "Armondikov's" request: "An editor's user page, and other pages in their user space, is their personal space and they are free to do with it what they want (with common-sense-exceptions, such as patently offensive material, copyright violations or spam)." There are no "patently offensive material, copyright violations or spam" on the page. Therefore, the page falls within guidelines. Dweren 20:14, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- You do have a point. The red links, however, do end up in our "wanted pages", and if they are never to be articles on RW, they stay in the "wanted pages" for eternity, or until someone un-links them. As for the clairvoyance, Ace does have a way of demoting folks expeditiously, hence the "beating Ace to the punch" line. Heh, punch line. - I'll probably be turning them into off-site links later today anyway, when I get some time and the back stops aching . . . so consider them reminders for the moment. Actually, given all the de-bunking to do, I'd expect Rowling and Potter to exist at some point. Possibly Turtledove as well. Dweren 20:44, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- Added note: Clairvoyance is seeing through things or at great distances. Divination is seeing into the future. :) Dweren 20:46, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- That'll work. Clairvoyance is the proper word to be used, as he is half a world away from me, certainly a great distance! Addendum They Might Be Giants is awesome! Particularly the album Apollo 18. Aboriginal Noise Theist, barely hanging by a nail 20:49, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- And, here are your mop and bucket. Consider yourself demoted. Aboriginal Noise Theist, barely hanging by a nail 20:52, 20 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think Dweren was referring to "will never be articles on RW" as the divination. My reason for that claim is that we have a mission, as you know, that does limit the mainspace contents somewhat. For instance, it's highly unlikely we will ever have an article on Geoffrey Chaucer... ħuman
