I wish a user's contribution list showed the size of the diff like the recent changes list does -- I wonder if there's some way to make it?

Without direct access to the wiki software (or its database, you'd have to do something like a Greasemonkey solution (access the history, grab the content of this version and the previous one, calculate diff size). I've found the information needed to do it reasonably; now it's just a Simple Matter of Programming. The magic bit I didn't know before was: http://site/index.php?title=PAGETITLE&oldid=VERSIONID&action=raw will get you just the wikisource for that version of that page. Once you have that, you can do your own diff

Interesting! Only problem seems to be that you apparently can't do a "&oldid=123&diff=prev&action=raw" thing to access the raw version of the previous edit (to make a good comparison of the two). Scratch that, I found the documentation and thus the proper way of accessing that. Still, interesting. You've found docs? I've been working just from source & experimentation. I was planning on doing diffs on the client side, using that syntax to pull down both versions. Is there a better way? And feel free to snip or summarize into talk space.

Yes, check here for a list of actions and arguments. Some actions/arguments may not work on CP, though. For example, the "diffonly" argument doesn't seem to work there. Anyway, I might start some coding tonight to make a simple "+/-x" calculation. --Sid 13:50, 26 May 2007 (CDT)

Sometimes I wonder if the sysops over at CP are clueless or very stubborn. Take RobS and the Boston Globe hilarity. Does he really not understand the piece is making fun of them for sounding like Pat Robertson or did he realize his mistake and have too much pride (or something) to admit he's wrong?
