Essay talk:Beyond logical fallacies

For what it's worth, an appeal to emotion is an argument type, not a logical fallacy or *just* a logical fallacy. You make an appeal to emotion when what you are trying to do is make your audience think with their hearts, not their head. The facts may or may not be true -- that is actually immaterial to the "fallacy"... to the argument. I've always found it funny to call it a logical fallacy, since that is not really a good description. I use appeal to emotion all the time; abortion debates, rape isses and debates, and the need to spend money on "starving kids". it is not factually wrong that they kids look at their mommies wondering why they can't have any more.. but it sure does sell the audience on what you are selling.--Pink mowse.pngEn attendant Godot 21:45, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
