Bottom section[edit]

I propose we move the bottom section to "fun"-space. ТyTalk. 14:26, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

It does rather look like something tagged on in a "good-idea-at-the-time" way. And looking at the edit history, a big chunk of it was added by a two-edit BoN ages ago. [1] Totnesmartin (talk) 15:31, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
Okay, will move the bottom half to drekspace. Top half stay here. ТyTalk. 15:31, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Myanmar or Burma??[edit]

Which name is more popular, Myanmar or Burma? I think the title of this article should reflect the more popular name for this country. Ψ (talk) 03:34, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

Google search trends says that Myanmar is much more popular. Although I'm skeptical of Google search trends for determining this sort of thing, it's all I know to check. Burma has the apparent advantage of being paired with the term "Burmese" more easily. Chillpilled (talk) 03:45, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
"Myanmar" and "Burma" are just formal and informal registers of the same word, so which name gets used depends on context. For me, personally, I think the whole "Burma/Myanmar" thing is stupid and just useless virtue-signaling. There are ways to help combat the oppressive Burmese military dictatorship, like donating to Burmese resistance groups and shit, that are much more impactful than symbolic tokenism. It's the same shit as liberals on Twitter posting Ukraine flags on their profiles. It's pretty, but pointless. Carthage (talk) 20:58, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
Changing the title would be a pain in the butt, so I support the status quo. Pizza SLICE.gifChef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 00:10, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
