Bhangi[edit]

Casteist slur for people belonging to the castes of Valmiki. Valmiki is a large cluster of castes, and local groups from the Indian subcontinent. The Valmikis can be classified as a caste or Sampradaya. In terms of being classified as Sampradaya, the Valmikis trace their tradition to the Hindu sage Valmiki who is traditionally ascribed as the writer of the epic Ramayana. Valmikis are traditionally supposed to be cleaners/sweepers according to the Caste system. They are supposed to clean the toilets of Upper caste hindus and do all the filthy work they would require to get done. TheVolatileWalker (talk) 06:20, 3 April 2020‎ (UTC)
