Digital camera[edit]

I don’t get why this is in the article. Weren’t there a couple available in like 1989? — Unsigned, by: 14.200.168.113 / talk

Unless India was completely out of the commercial world for the last 90-100 years or so, yes, you would be correct. The section also doesn't make much sense as is so I'll remove it. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 13:41, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
Post script: it appears that the section is supposed to debunk his claim, but given the results of my initial fact checking on the inital commercial availability of digital cameras, as well as the fact that the section leaves out the actual debunking, I'm still going to make a judgement call and remove it. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 13:49, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
FYI from my research, it seems like commercial digital cameras were not really available to the public until 1990 or 1991, but you could perform semi-hybridish functions like use a still video cameraWikipedia and convert the analog data to digital via a video capture cardWikipedia. The GIF format was invented in 1987 (invented by the dominant BBS of the time, CompuserveWikipedia) and my memory of being on BBS systems lin the late 1980s to early 1990s definitely includes uploading and downloading GIF pictures using your good ol' 2400 baud modem (or even fancy USRoboticsWikipedia 9600 baud modems if they had them). I'm sure the quote was put into the article because there was some brewhaha on social media over it, but while the quote's probably not quite correct in details, I think it's nitpicking to highlight it. (Remembering exact details from 30 years ago on the fly isn't easy). There's much worse things Modi has done and said, anyways. Soundwave106 (talk) 18:20, 7 July 2020 (UTC)

Modi and climate change[edit]

So a quick dig through this article's Wikipedia counterpart paints a slightly more complicated, and slightly less flattering picture. Highlights include him weakening environmental protections and regulations, increasing coal usage, and promising carbon neutrality by 2050. Aside from the fact that he's 71 and will therefore either be retired or dead by that point, his other actions, including his greenlighting of increased coal usage in India, do not support his far off pledge. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 13:49, 9 January 2022 (UTC)

If anything, this article isn't harsh enough on Modi as it only goes after remarks he's made in the past. ☭Comrade GC☭Ministry of Praise 13:50, 9 January 2022 (UTC)

Zero idea how to incorporate this into the article but interesting nonetheless...𝗦𝗾𝗿𝘁-𝟭 talk stalk 04:11, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
