How is "comparing gay marriage to interracial marriage" playing the race card? One tin soldier (talk) 18:36, 18 June 2014 (UTC)

An opponent of marriage equality might argue that by comparing the struggle for marriage equality to the civil rights struggle is playing the race card by trying to portray homosexuality as something worthy of protection like race, when it is a chosen behavior. That preson would be wrong, of course, but, to them, wrapping up the marriage of Steve and Richard in the flag of "I have a dream" is an inappropriate use of civil rights discourse.
