Any evidence that Cambodia is a model that the Shining Path hope to replicate? We have a Britannica link with no sources claiming as such, but nothing else. I googled the conenction and this seems to be a right wing talking point with nothing but speculation to back it. Seems suspect considering Cambodia is a taboo topic even among the tankier parts of the left (it was the Socialist Republic of Vietnam that put an end to them after all!) Get ready, it's... Britannica is reliable enough in and of itself I think we can keep it.-Flandres (talk) 03:39, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

Should DAESH and the Ustase still be under "See also?"[edit]

Other than the shared totalitarian elements of ideology and actions, neither of these groups are closely related to or take inspiration from the Shining Path/Maoism, and understanding the Shining Path won't necessarily help one understand these two (or vice versa) beyond the basic fact that "mass killing and political repression bad." I'm considering deleting those two entries. --Zoe (talk) 18:52, 18 October 2022 (UTC)

I'd agree to removing them. The groups have very little in common. Pizza SLICE.gifChef Moosolini’s Ristorante ItalianoMake a Reservation 21:37, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
I'd also agree. Both have pretty different histories, particularly regarding how they rose to prominence and how they fell from it. I'd remove the mention of the various Neo-Nazi groups as well. Even the description acknowledges that those groups and the Shining Path are very different. DietMondrian (talk) 04:17, 20 October 2022 (UTC)
Gone ahead and removed the links to the articles on DAESH, Ustase, and the various Neo-Nazi group under "See also". DietMondrian (talk) 08:40, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
