Ewww. Live Action Honey and Clover was a major disappointment for me. And Absolute Boyfriend was meh. An Ouran High School Host Club is a big turn off for me too. ;____;...So much disappoint.

I tend to agree - some (most?) anime doesn't translate well to live action - Higurashi, You're under arrest and Death Note being a few examples. Detroit Metal City was fun, if a bit over the top (but that's the point of it!!) A live action Ouran sounds like it would ramp up the creepiness levels to new highs.

btw, for a good look at actual host clubs, watch The Great Happiness Space. Certainly takes all of the shine off Ouran...

Speaking of host clubs, we watched the "second part" of a famous 90s ish Drama about a student and Highschool teacher in love. I can't now remember the name.

but the 2000 "part two" (not really a remake, the characters were different) had lots of the scenes in a host club. it was... odd... to say the least.

sadly, my japanses is virtually no existant unless I'm saying "yummy" or "sushi please". :-) so i can't remember the name.

Haha. It's okay. Actually lately I've been watching a lot of Korean War movies again, since a new movie came out. The Front Line. That's pretty good. If you haven't seen Tae Guk Ki, you should watch that as well. That's actually my favorite movie, and makes me cry every time. Welcome to Dongmakgol is pretty funny/action-y. JSA (Joint Security Area) is good too.
