Cognitive science meets religion

New journal of cog sci and religion launched. Editorial board looks good -- not that I'm biased because I largely agree with Pascal Boyer or anything. Blush.gif I haven't read much by Armin Geertz, but what I have is good. I'm guessing he's related to Clifford somehow.

this is an odd feeling for me. Two fields colliding, but I'm oddly dubious about it. I'll enjoy reading it, though.

I have some hope for this venture as they have anthropologists on-board whereas some prior efforts to merge psychology and anthropology/history, much like biology, have tended toward vulgar determinism. (Cough psychohistory cough) Now if they get Scott AtranWikipedia and Harvey WhitehouseWikipedia on board, that would be pretty damn awesome.
