This is what Diogenes posted to Andy's talk page, apparently in January 2008. The original posting got vaped; the second one, repeating the first, also got vaped, and Diogenes got blocked, by Karajou, with the comment "Don't mess with Andy".

Still Looking for an Honest Man[edit]

Andy:

I apologize for distracting you with my recent request for information. I should have known that you were busy with Contest 4 and couldn't take the time to respond. Since you have made 1200 edits since then, I hope you can now take the time to respond.

On January 16, I asked you about CollegeRepublican. Within a couple of hours you deleted that and replaced it with

{ridiculous rant deleted)
Notice to potential posters here: I'm currently competing in Contest4 and only have time to respond to productive and succinct comments. I believe the Contest is still open to additional participants at Conservapedia:Contest4. Thank you.--Aschlafly 20:44, 16 January 2008 (EST)

which is still visible at User_talk:Aschlafly/Archive35#Anarchopedia. Several weeks later, after archiving it, you expunged the history, making it completely inaccessible. Therefore, I am repeating the posting below.

(The mention of Iduan refers to an earlier incident, when he declared his intention to leave CP. He came back, but it appears that things have recently taken another turn for the worse.)

And while you are responding to this, perhaps you can explain another baffling situation, in which you seem to be overriding the judgement of respected leaders at CP. I refer to the behavior of Kektklik and PhyllisS. Their actions appear to my jaded eyes to be at the level of "IM" messages of teenagers, and yet you protect them while they run amok among the adults at CP. See [1].

Here is the original request:

Looking for an Honest Man[edit]

Andy:

As you know, honesty, integrity, openness, and truthfulness are important conservative values, and it is clear from reading your work that you attach great importance, as all conservatives do, to those values. Therefore, it is with great surprise and disappointment that I must take strong exception to the way CollegeRepublican was made a sysop and administrator. Your lame response at 11:54 on December 22 ("I am also investigating a better way ... to attract ... College Republicans ... to get more involved"), and the deletion of complaints about this, were particularly troubling. Specifically, you made this deletion on the subject, and DanH made this one.

While these actions, and your claim to be "investigating a better way", do not necessarily constitute literal deceit, i.e. outright lying, they are dishonorable in the extreme. They are the sort of "spin", dissembling, and hypocrisy that one associates with politicians, pop-culture figures, and left-wing activists. Many conservatives, such as myself, and nearly all the contributors to Conservapedia, place great value on honesty, openness, and integrity. We have collectively made over 1/3 of a million edits to Conservapedia, in a good-faith, honorable effort to make CP a shining example of conservatism at its best. People who follow conservative principles do not hide behind coverups or weasel statements about "investigating a better way". You dishonor all of us, and lead us to believe that CP is, at its core, corrupt.

Furthermore, you may have frozen the meritocracy that used to underlie the sysop promotion process. Why should people attempt to become sysops if this is the way things are done around here? Is this why Iduan is leaving?

Can you tell us specifically what it is that CollegeRepublican did to be rewarded in this way? If his actions were so exemplary and praiseworthy as to merit being made a sysop on the spot, one would think you would publicize it, perhaps mentioning it on the "Breaking News" section of the main page, so that it can be a shining example of conservative achievement and an inspiration to conservatives everywhere. The "Breaking News" section frequently has things that are far less newsworthy than this. But you have been strangely silent on this point. Why the secrecy?

You say that you are investigating a better way to attract College Republicans to get more involved. Can you fill us in on the results of your quest so far?

Is this the sort of thing you want to present to the world? Is this the sort of behavior that you think will attract hard-working, conscientious, honest, and honorable people? Is this the sort of behavior that sets a public example of conservative virtues?

Without divulging his identity, are you at least able to assure us that, contrary to speculation elsewhere on the Internet, CollegeRepublican is not related to you?

And finally, will your response to this be manly, or will it be cowardly?
