God Save the King?

Nicola Sturgeon (1970–) is the (soon to be former) First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National Party, having ascended to the position in 2014. Her term has been a period of unprecedented progress and prosperity for Scotland, amid unprecedented attacks from the Unionist establishment.

Background[edit]

Unlike many politicians, Nicola Sturgeon did not grow up in a life of luxury, instead Sturgeon lived like the average Scottish person, seeing the damages that Thatcherism inflicted on the country every day, while many would be disheartened by seeing their country and community being destroyed, Sturgeon decided to do something about it. Since she was a teenager Sturgeon has fought relentlessly for Scotland's right to be a free and independent nation, becoming an MSP in 1999, Deputy leader of the SNP in 2004, Deputy First Minister in 2007 until finally becoming First Minister in 2014.

Scotland's most successful leader[edit]

After taking over from Alex Salmond in 2014, Nicola Sturgeon enjoyed immense popular approval, winning all but 3 Scottish seats in the election held less than a year after she became leader and managed to win every single national election held in Scotland during her time as leader. Sturgeon was so successful that in the vast majority of elections most parties would giver up trying to win before the election was even held. Her successes weren't limited to elections however, the whole of Scotland prospered thanks to achievements such as baby box and the Queensferry Crossing. While her leadership during the Covid-19 Pandemic was applauded internationally.

Unionist Smear Campaign[edit]

However, there were those who weren't happy with Sturgeon's progressive policies, for many politicians in Westminster, an independent, progressive Scotland was not in their interests. For them it was much easier to loot and pillage Scotland without a strong, independent leader stopping them. So it was decided that Nicola Sturgeon would have to go. Westminster already controlled the vast majority of the media, with The National being the only major newspaper that openly supported Scottish independence. However for Westminster to truly topple Sturgeon they would have to go deeper, many figure in the SNP were jealous of Sturgeon's incontestably successful leadership, among them former leader Alex Salmond, this culminated in 2021, just months before a crucial election that many saw as a mandate for a second referendum, when Alex Salmond, with the help of the Unionist MSM claimed that Nicola Sturgeon had attempted to frame him, Nicola Sturgeon easily refuted these allegations, Salmond, clearly bitter about the situation decided to launch his own party, some of the SNP's biggest creeps and liabilities flocked to the party, ultimately helping Nicola to get rid of some of her biggest rivals, Salmond's party failed miserably, failing to elect a single MSP in 2021 and not electing any councillors in the local elections a year later.

Nicola's last days[edit]

Nearly 2 years after the establishment's pitiful attempt to overthrow Sturgeon ended miserably, Nicola Sturgeon finally got around to passing the GRR bill which had been debated for the better part of a decade, despite getting support from member of all parties in Holyrood (even a few Tories) there were some who opposed the bill, the Unionist MSM capitalised on this opportunity, spreading lies about trans people and the GRR bill. While many were fooled by these lies it seemed certain the Sturgeon's government would continue. However after over 8 years of constant smears and sabotage Sturgeon, Sturgeon decided that she had enough and decided to gracefully resign as SNP leader and First Minister, shocking the MSM, who have been used to politicans clinging on to power by their fingernails like Alex Salmond clings onto every young woman in a 10 mile radius. Ultimately despite all the attempts to force Strurgeon out she went out gracefully on her own terms, proving her skills as a leader, both in and out of power.
