2025 RationalWiki 'Oregon Plan' Fundraiser

There is no RationalWiki without you. We are a small non-profit with no staff—we are hundreds of volunteers who document pseudoscience and crankery around the world every day. We will never allow ads because we must remain independent. We cannot rely on big donors with corresponding big agendas. We are not the largest website around, but we believe we play an important role in defending truth and objectivity.

Fighting pseudoscience isn't free.

Dear atheists, This essay revolves around an honest question, how do you deal with death as atheists? I understand we don't think about it often... But you have to admit, it's really scary to believe that this life is all we have. Even if it were so, I do not see the benefit of believing it. If you are being hanged, and your friend promised they would come... What is the benefit of believing they will not come?
