POWER STRUCTURE @ RATIONALWIKI[edit]

As a potential contributor, maybe even article writer, I would appreciate a candid and complete explication of who controls the content of rationalwiki and how they control it. Those who have collectively acquired this control can write their history if they wish - complete with names and spheres of influence. This would make us all equally informed, give us an idea of how our writing would be edited and by whom, and save us the trouble of reading through uninformative policy flack. Please omit the philosophical generalities and exhortations unless they bear on this issue.— Unsigned, by: Lifeformnoho / talk / contribs

The following groups all have some control over rationalwiki
  • Everyone: It's still a wiki and anyone can edit. Most people who do get the administrative tools to manage the site, including bans, proteciton, and such.
  • The common users: there's a sorta complex in-group dynamic. I think new users are judged a little more harshly than those that edit regularly. And there might be a secret cabal. I wouldn't know. I'm not a member.
  • The rationalwiki foundation board. They own the site, and make final decisions about legal matters. And management of hardware/software expenses. Mostly made of editors, I think. They're elected too?

Mostly made of editors, I think. They're elected too? Well we're suppossed to be having an election for them, we have the list of 6 people for 5 positions, so whenever people feel like getting that moving i guess. --Miekal 21:37, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
