Delete[edit]

  1. Too stubby and ought to merge with the political spectrum page April Chat? 00:51, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
I realize I probably should provide a longer reason for this, but there is not much to say. As one can clearly tell, the page operates more as a list of principles and movements rather than as a meaningful discussion on and analysis of radical politics. There is no history provided or any extensive research done, and the section about radical principles put into practice is about as long as a note on a napkin. There is already a page about the political spectrum, and what society often regards as "far-left" politics is a part of that spectrum. Therefore, confining the topic of "far-left" politics to the political spectrum page is more logical than giving the topic its own page.--April Chat? 01:00, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
  2. The term "far-left" is not useful in regards to the real analysis of the ideological groups which commonly are called that. Further, from a materialist, historical, and dialectical view, it is largely baseless and relative. For instance, a centuries ago, within the context of the French Revolution, the "far-left" were considered to be what are, by our modern understanding, Liberals and proto-Socialists, whereas today, Liberalism is often viewed as being a "center" or "right-wing" ideology. Further, ideology is itself a product of the relative level of socioeconomic developement of the people following it, hence why, back during the age of feudalism, Liberalism - the ideology of capitalism - was considered radical and "left", and why now, under capitalist society, most Socialists, Anarchists, Communists, and others are considered "far-left". Thus, this term is totally undialectical and immaterial. Regarding the present content of the article, it is largely just a broad listing of a few ideological trends, but lacking in all else. 3. Per both. It's a poorly defined article with flimsy examples. It's better to read up on the actual radical left-wing ideologies like social anarchism than go through this page. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario! 21:43, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

Keep[edit]

The political spectrum page is a lot worse than this one IMO. GeeJayKWhere all evil dwells Where every lie is true 01:22, 4 November 2022 (UTC) Actually, the three pages are pretty bad (including far right). My guess is the authors seem to believe that liberalism is the only actual legitimate political position. Gonna wait before cast a vote. 1. Rewrite & delete what doesn't seem to be viable for this page. Maybe put it back in the draft section? Has happened before with the Anarchism page from what I've read. Arcadium Trancefer (talk) 13:07, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
As per Wisconcom, "far left," "far right," and "political center" are useless for real analyses of the various angles of the political spectrum, but they get thrown around so often that they are missional terms. RW is not an encyclopedia after all. It's just this article is gonna need a lot of work. Vee (talk) 14:18, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

Merge/redirect[edit]

  1. Nominations with suggestions for merge really should be on the talk page or RW:DUP, tbqh. American daylight saving time ending November 6, Andrew5 (talk) 01:04, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
Oh, my bad. Sorry.--April Chat? 01:05, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
@Andrew5 Why is there a section for merge requests on here then? Vee (talk) 14:10, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
Mostly because if deletion is proposed, and an alternate is later found, we can continue smoothly in the discussion. Andrew5 mobile (talk) 14:56, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
  2. nevermind, move to draftspace, I don't like delitionism, and one could make this better. The long list of assertions is annoying and dubious FallisBestSeason (talk) 01:34, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
  3. merge with the political spectrum page? as it is this is just half bullet points and half analysis that could stand to be sourced. better to have one big page than a lot of little pages with roughly the same content. Jake Holmesyell at me 13:18, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
As per GJK, the article on the political spectrum itself is pretty bad. Vee (talk) 13:25, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
Merge: Political spectrum isn't bronze but it isn't that bad. Bongolian (talk) 19:55, 5 November 2022 (UTC)

Goat[edit]

  • I want to see how people are feeling about the political spectrum page first, as I'm not a fan of it being merged into a big page like this. --It's-a me, Lgm sigpic.png LeftyGreenMario! 01:15, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
  • I'm split between merge/redirect and delete. The article is pretty bad, but it is missional for the wiki. Vee (talk) 13:15, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
I think it's also worth pointing out that the terms "left," "right," and "center" all cover a broad variety of economic, social, and political positions. The CCCP was economically leftist but socially it was pretty rightist. Vee (talk) 14:05, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
