I think I'm going to be sick. As a person with disabilities myself, I am angered beyond belief. I cannot in good consciousness let this continue. 2601:1C2:4B80:8820:D163:924C:880C:6493 (talk) 01:41, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

To be completely honest[edit]

The very first time I read this, I wanted to find the nearest bottle of booze and take a huge drink. So fucking messed up. --George Soros Puppet (talk) 18:13, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

@Rationalzombie94 Yeah, expanding this article was pretty unpleasant experience, especially as someone with autism. There's just nothing really but despair. The only good news is the FDA finally took some action, though who knows if it's actually being obeyed with all the bullshit going on.--NavigatorBR (Talk) - 22:16, 31 July 2020 (UTC)
As someone with Autism, that is why I mentioned what I mentioned. --George Soros Puppet (talk) 22:30, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

Documents on Linda Cornelison's Death[edit]

P.S.: While a lot of wikied documents on Linda Cornelison's death have been "sanitized" by the JRC when no one was paying attention, the PDF stating she was fed 300 calories a day for days is still up. https://autistichoya.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/jrc-history-2005-polyxane-cobb.pdf However it was made from a document where the reason she was fed 300 calories a day (failure to learn lessons without help -- a punishment that would definitely reduce her learning ability more each day it happens) was already removed via lawsuit threats.— Unsigned, by: 174.93.183.128 / talk 04:24, 20 July 2020 (See Note Below)

Special note: This was originally placed in the main article space. I've relocated to the Talk page for further examination at a later point. The time above was the time recorded in the Fossil Record (History).--NavigatorBR (Talk) - 21:39, 31 July 2020 (UTC)

On avoiding hyperbole[edit]

The changes recently done and undone are small, and have to do with the article's warning on top, another small detail in wording, and the categories used.

Much but not all of @Scientologism is Bullshit's first change was kept before SiB's new change. The parts I don't mention below are fine as far as I'm concerned.

@Christopher disliked the "excessive" elaboration of the warning text on top of the article. I agree, I don't think it would actually help readers.

I dislike the change in wording from calling JRC a "torture center" (old version) to calling it a "concentration camp" (SiB's version). It's followed in the same paragraph by "No, that's not an exaggeration.", so whatever it's called, accuracy demands avoiding any exaggeration if both the initial words and "not an exaggeration" are to be kept. I think "torture center" is accurate enough, but "concentration camp" muddies the associations too much.

Finally, on categories. SiB added "Authoritarian wingnuttery", but are there clear political standpoints to JRC and its actions? If there are, then info about ideological expressions should be added. If not, the category should be removed. But the older categories which Christopher removed, "Crimes against humanity" and "Human rights", could fit the separate question of barbaric malpractice and surrounding controversy well enough, and could be kept if others don't mind them. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 12:39, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

I see @IveBeenFrank undid the "concentration camp" wording and the category re-additions other than "Human rights". On second thought, I agree with the resulting categories given the current info. I have now re-trimmed the warning text on top of the article. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 12:48, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
I removed the human rights category purely on the basis that it feels out of place to have such a specific article (one organisation) in a category mostly made up of articles on broad concepts like freedom of speech, or laws guaranteeing or violating certain human rights. Christopher (talk) 13:31, 30 April 2021 (UTC)
That makes sense, and the remaining "Ableism" category is within subcategories and seems to cover the anti-rights aspect well enough. --ApooftGnegiol (talk) 14:13, 30 April 2021 (UTC)

Concentration Camp or Soviet Gulag? Can't go wrong with either[edit]

That is a tough call. --Trans Fem Agenda 01:27, 20 October 2023 (UTC)
