Mission[edit]

Which mission point does this article fall under? PowderSmokeAndLeather: Say something once, why say it again?.Moderator 15:09, 21 December 2013 (UTC)

Though it may be a stretch, there is always authoritarianism. Be good little consumers and support the rent-seekers by paying through properly authorized channels. The part about encouraging and supporting the content creators (or artists) comes as a bit of bullshit-flavored lagniappe. Sprocket J Cogswell (talk) 15:36, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
That's a stretch for sure. Once I get rid of everything besides that, this will be a short article indeed. PowderSmokeAndLeather: Say something once, why say it again?.Moderator 15:52, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
Some text about actual salty piracy could remain, for contrast with the keyboard-pecking or mouse-clicking activity labeled "piracy." Sprocket J Cogswell (talk) 16:17, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
You coould also include bits about site like Napster and Megaupload, as well as expand the portion on The Pirate Bay.PallasAthene (talk) 16:33, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
Still don't see where that fits into the mission. PowderSmokeAndLeather: Say something once, why say it again?.Moderator 17:19, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
Given how most of the mission is about dealing with woo, hard right wing politics, Creationism and not even wrong green-ink stuff, there seems to be nothing in this article about any of it, nor have I heard much of anything about it. Linking it to The Pirate Bay is tenuous at best and even then doesn't really make for much of an article. --Kels (talk) 18:15, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
Not under the mission point?! DIRTY INFIDELS, the FSM will destroy you for your insolence!!--Arisboch (talk) 21:41, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

This is an important subject for RW[edit]

But needs to be re-written, or merged into an article focusing on the debate around how IP is dealt with by various govs, and specifically about how throwing money at governments more or less makes them shut down websites the RIAA/MPAA don't like, and raid people.
